holiday complaint - should i?

Options
wonder if someone would like to comment on this for me.....

breifly, went on holiday, got there ok, went in to appartment, which smelt strongly of wet paint & damp... went off for a shower, stood on 2 5p sizes peices of glass in bath, found other shards of glass on bathroom floor (neatly swept into corner) also found someone elses shower gel in shower....

Went off to bed, grumbling n whining, pulled up the covers, to find they were damp and whiffy... asked for new covers at reception the next day (forgot about the glass incident) got new covers.... whooooo hoooo.... OH.... er they were ripped.. grumbled a bit more n went off to bed after hectic day.

having breakfast & notices dining chair broken, so didnt use it as only 3 of us... went off for the day, remembered the glass... went to find rep.... who wasnt in till the next day.... we had day trip planned, so decided to catch them the time after.... turned up, no rep.... Mmmmmmm grumble grumble...

walking back to appartment, was HARRASSED by time s h i t e i mean share person, the only way they would clear off is when we threatened to call the cops....

had the neighbours from hell first part of week, now who wants to explain "noises" in the night to a 13 yr old..... NOT ME!!!

tried to telephone reception at 4 am to complain, phone didnt work, went over there in the morning, and asked them to phone the rep to come up especially for us... they did, he did we filled in complain form, came home, wrote stinking letter and ........ NOTHING..... had a couple of were sorry letters, but no offer of comp.....

so do we take it further or leave it?
is it me? or should we kick up a fuss?

Ask for compensation. See what they offer. If you still aren't happy say you will seek advice from trading standards and/or ABTA and then get some advice.

    What's the company's name?

Write another letter asking overtly for compensation. Mention how unenjoyable / difficult your holiday was as a result of these problems. if you have any photographs of the glass i the shower send a copy with the letter.

You have to remember that these guys are in buiness to make money. If you don't ask for it you ain't gonna get it.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Depends how much of it you have proof for I guess.

From company's perspective it seems that your only complaint was to reception about the damp smelling sheets the second day.

The next they heard from you was a few days later (near the end of the holiday) when you spoke to the holiday rep for the first time about your complaints.

From the companies perspective, they didn't have much chance to put things right for you.

If it were me I would persue it as I'm stubborn, but I also know that I normally give up after 3 letters if the company aren't budging...unless they have seriously hacked me off and I know for sure that I'm in the right!

Alternatively, you could name and shame on here and everyone else who uses that company will know to be a bit wary when booking with them.

state exactly what you want from them in another letter, explaining why.

ok, sorry i havent made things too clear, yes i have written to them, approx 4 times, asking for at least £150 back of price... they basically either havent replied, or just said "nope nope nope"... and offered me £50 voucher (which hasnt arrived).

they said they didnt have time to put things right at the time, but how can they put glass in the bath right? and why should we cancel our days out to speak to a rep...

i think i shall now write to ABTA... i think their customer services are particulary cr ** p also...

will write to abta etc... n see what happens... didnt know if i was being picky or ad a right to be miffed....

    thanks loops

Can't you tell us exactly where you went so we can all avoid the place?

Incidentally, didn't you use holidaysuncovered.com before booking?

chill out ... it was supposed be a holiday - appreciate it for the good times, why bring home the crap and dwell on it - let it go - move on - less stress.

    Were you there too?

When you save all year and take a precious two weeks off from work, it sounds like it could easily be ruined by her experiences.

The holiday I just had didn't really meet my expectations but compared to Loopy's it was problem an incident free. I'm in a position not to dwell on the bad stuff but I don't think Loopy is.

i guess we could leave it, but then why should i hand over more than £900 for something which was dangerous, embarrassing & threatening...

The time sh i t e man scared my daughter as he just wud not go away... he followed us some distance, standing in front of us etc... in the end i lost it as my daughter was clinging to my arm sayin make him go away, he will know which appartmenet were at... so we detoured... and i basically said if ya dont ****8 off im calling the cops...

as for the neighbours, i dont wanna listen to people up to "no good" and i certainly dont wanna have to explain it to a 14yr old.... it was more of a party if ya know wot i mean. started at 4am till 7am

as for the glass, what would have happend if someoine had filled the bath with a nice bubble bath for a toddler (an adult is bad enough) they would have sat them on the glass, or the glass could have gotten lodged in a bar of soap and rubbed around a little body or a face... I kept the glass & also have pics in situ.

thats why im p *** ed off....
