Heating with Corn

We've been heating with corn for about 3 years and have found it extremely economical; last year we spent about $500 on corn and supplemental electric for the heating season (versus about $400-$500/month for oil in our area). We created a webpage at http://corn.waldensedge.com to show how our stove works...feel free to check it out! Has anyone else tried heating with corn, cherry pits or olive pits?

Blimey, MSE International.! Welcome to the forum Jim.
Looks interesting, not sure how much access we have to corn in the UK though. You may be interested (or have tried) running your car on vegetable oil - see this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=854810 -
Good point; in the past few years we've had an overabundance of corn in the US. Our stove also works with cherry and olive pits; I've heard of people who have gotten them from free from jelly manufacturers (or olive oil producers).
Thanks for the link on the vegetable oil car--I'd love to try that!0 -
Elephant grass looks like it might be the up and coming thing in the UK!
