quick update- had to take Charlie to vet yesterday as he was not getting any better. turns out his tail had got an abscess on it where he had been bitten, had to stay over night and the abscess burst :( so he had to have it all cleaned and drained. has had an anti-biotic injection and has to have painkillers every day. goes back on Monday for a chek-up to see how its healing.

vet said it was most likely another cat that bit him as cat bites can easily get infected.

jillie - There's been a fresh incident since (see above), unfortunately.

fresh incident is suggested as a "cat fight".

Expect the latest instance sounds more like a cat bite. Cats bites are !!!!!!ed as our old ginger toms crocked ear will confirm.

Sorry, I didn't see that last bit about the cat bite.

Poor Charlie's been through the wars, though.

    oh yes.
he came from a litter that were all covered in fleas (not good owner). then when he was about 1 yr old got bad cystitis and nearly died from that. then the greyhound attack and now another cat attacked him.

wouldnt mind but as he's been neutered, he's no threat to any cat as he'snot bothered by them
