The following TFT LCD Screen doesn't have DVI does it?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-X193W-Widescreen-TFT-Monitor/dp/tech-data/B000WFQBYC/ref=de_a_smtd/202-5967891-9700652?ie=UTF8&qid=1209672372&sr=1-1
I believe it's VGA. How much more would a monitor with DVI input cost? Would you be able to tell the difference in picture quality?0 -
Nope, not at that price. Expect to pay a bit more for everything if you want to go the DVI way (TFT, cables, new Freeview box with upscaling...)
Honestly, for what you're planning to use it for I doubt you will notice any difference"When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
awesome, I think I'll stick with that then. I've bought the xbox360 today, the next thing I need to do is look for appropriate cables.0

For the cables, look at Amazon and maybe find it cheaper on eBay..."When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0

There's a lot of variation! but essentially they all look the same to me.0 -
Out of those choices I'd get the last one...with optical out for surround sound option."When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0

Hi again,
This might be handy for you in your situation:

It's the VGA switching box I mentioned before - so you can connect your laptop and 360 to the TFT at the same time without the hassle of unplugging and re-plugging cables. Read some of the customer reviews...people have used if for exactly what you are plannnig to use it for...and have reported good results!
There is a special on it at the moment at Amazon - £11.59 for both items if you buy the cable and the VGA box together at the checkout."When you're right no one remembers. When you're wrong no one forgets." :rolleyes:0 -
thats a nice deal, however I was hoping to connect the freeview box to the tft monitor, and not the laptop. is it still the same then? cheers :T0

hey guys, thanks for all your help, but i've run into a problem! the vga av cable and tft screen were bought. arrived today. HOWEVER, there's no sound? the tft screen doesnt SEEM (?) to have any speakers on them, and there's no "sound out" type connector, any ideas how I can get around this?
There IS however a sort of flap at the back of the vga connector where something can go, and there are also 2 connectors dangling free (one red and one white). any ideas how I can make the sound work from somewhere??
thanks!!:T0 -
any ideas? thanks very much!:T0
