Hi Piglet - yes - floors are sort of brown and dusty with stains whose provenance is best left uninvestigated before the watershed

    Hi Michael

It makes sense that a court would have to allow a 'new' DCA to enforce an old CCJ. I *think* that the old CCJ would have been so that the owner of the debt could enforce it, not so that it could be sold and enforced by someone else (I say think because I haven't seen the wording of a CCJ and don't know if it relates to the creditor or the debt).

Do the new DCA definitely own the debt or are they fishing? Have you adhered to the terms of the CCJ so far etc? It might be worth a call tomorrow to the number at https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk (choose your location - england and wales or scotland, they will be able to advise you on the legal position of the CCJ.

Hi Michael - once a claimant has received a ccj against you they can enforce it any time they like in the first six years. After the 6 years they need to make an application to the court for leave to enforce the judgment which is basically just asking the courts permission. The judge will want to know why they left it so long - its usually because they couldnt trace the defendant to a current address. HTH give us a shout if you need any more info x x

well there it is if anyone wants a mooch, not a massive debt compared to what some other people have , not that i'm judging anyone or anything, but still worries me, hiding me car at night and things like that just in case.....probably changing logbook over to relatives name just to be on the safe side
