Renault Laguna New Version

Are they a good buy for a 2nd car, anyone got one that could say if they are happy with it.
I saw one and liked the look of it, but when I went home and did my research, it seems the model is pretty notoriously unreliable. I'm sure there are some good ones out there, but it seems there's an excess of bad 'uns!
I scratched it from my list and considered instead:
- Toyota Avensis Hatch
- Skoda Octavia Hatch/Estate
- Nissan Primera Hatch
- Ford Focus Estate
- Vauxhall Vectra Hatch
- Vauxhall Astra Estate
- Ford Mondeo Hatch
I ended up with a Mk. III Mondeo. Seems a vast improvement on my last Ford from 1987!0 -
I had the laguna hatch on a 24h test drive, but ended up having it for about 4 days as it was over the weekend, it was the 2.0 dci 150 bhp version,
to be fair I wasn't expecting much from this french euro box.. but I have to say im pretty pleased with it.. the 2.0l diesel pulls well, quite a high spec.. only thing missing is sat nav.... it feels very well put together, more German than French... I wouldn't buy one.. but well done Renault:cool:
will it fall apart in 3 years time? that is anyone's guess0 -
Recently had a Laguna as a company car. Yes was a very nice car to drive, except........
when the cardkey would not work took the local Renault garage over a week to get another one, and as the supplier had not sent a spare key had to rely on the key inside the card for locking and unlocking.
Also, as they have not got a tradiional handbrake, bit of a pain if the car was to lose battery power as everything seems to lock up.
When going well was a very nice drive, but I have as much space in my Focus(gone from company car to car allowance) as I had in the Laguna
