Beware switching
Options
I received a letter from npower to say my 5 year fixed rate was up. The new rate they offered was 300% higher than I am paying now so I decided to swap suppliers. I went onto energy switch and opted for Scottish Power 3 year fixed rate at only 200% higher than I am paying now! I have just received a letter from npower saying as my contract is still valid with them they will not allow me to switch providers. It appears that I personally have to cancel my contract with npower as well as Scottish Power writing to them all in sinck! Although Scottish Power did write on my behalf in the time limits as I personnaly did not I am now told that I am locked into another 12 months with npower and nothing I can do about it. They said they will get an advisor to call me but the soonest appointment is 8th May - it is 30th April today! Anyone had this happen to them? Anyway out of these fixed running contracts?

Is that a business tariff you are on? Thats the only way I'm aware of that they can "lock you in" for another year.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
