No you can`t get cashback.
These sites get their money by making out how much fantastic savings you can make by switching to ANOTHER supplier.
It`s the suppliers who are paying these sites to "con" you into switching by offering cashback ("a bribe").0 -

Absolute rubbish, you can get cash by switching tariffs with certain suppliers, some suppliers wont allow you to use comparison sites to switch tariffs, I have personally had cashback from Energyhelpline switching from Npower standard to Sign online and I know someone that did the same with BG click energy 4 last year.
Can you please explain where the con was in that?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
The OP is with Scottish Power and wants to switch to Scottish Power so why don`t you advise him how to get cashback?
Because you can`t.0 -
Ok so why dont you tell me why you said you cant get cashback from sites for switching between tariffs with the same supplier when it obvious that you can.
Also can you back up the claims as to how this is a "con"Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
You know it all so why don`t you advise the OP how to switch from SP to SP and get cashback.
Like I said originally
it can`t be done!0 -
I didnt actually know that you couldnt switch between tariffs with Scottish power and never said I did, what I said was that you were talking rubbish as you said..No you can`t get cashback.

I was merely pointing out that you CAN get cashback by switching to the same supplier, you were the one making ridiculous sweeping statements matey not me.
You are also the one that seem to know it all so can you please explain how energyhelpline switching me from Npower standard to Sign-online was a con when I switched tariffs with the same supplier saving money AND got cashback?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Why is it a 'con'? What evidence do you have to back this up or have you been listening to Cardew?
Plushchris is correct you can switch tariffs with certain comparrison sites and get cash back. You used to be able to do it with moneysupermarket.com but not anymore. You could always try Quidco but I doubt it would work.

The OP asked the following question which I answered unlike you pair who seem to waffle about anything except the answer to this question:
Does anyone know if you can get cashback when you 'switch' to the same supplier?
i.e. in his case SP
Why don`t you answer his question on how to get cashback by switching from SP to SP?

How about you all stop arguing?
Still there, OP, or have this lot put you off already?
I have heard stories of when people switched tarrifs with the same supplier they didn't get the cash back. Apparently in some cases you can, but it sounds like with your supplier you can't.
But I've also heard that you can only get the cashback for switching once.
So I'd say switch to the new tarrif anyway, without getting cashback.
Then next time you are ready to switch it may come up with a different provider, and you can get your cashback then.0 -

On the comparison sites I keep finding Scottish Power are my best option, but on a different tariff to the one I'm on now.
When you say cashback are you talking about the £15/30 you get through the comparison site?
Maybe I've missed a trick here?? but I was with BG and switched tarriffs through quidco and managed to recoup £60...not sure of you can switch through the comparison sites and also get quidco monies as well??
FYI - Scottish Power are offering up to £72 through quidco.0
