    Last month's aims....
    * Make at least £300 extra towards MBNA Yup £370 made :D
    * Spend under £370 for food shopping Erm, massive fail :o
    * Do NOT overpay 0% cards  Yup, I managed not to
    * Get through the month without the OD :o (could be hard, we are about £450 short at the moment - damn April increases before end of April payrise ) Yes, thankfully worked for Dad picked up a lot so we made it through
    * Get mortgage exit fees money back (should be £175) Letter sent, just waiting

We've also sent off for a tax allowance rebate which we missed in 2003.

    Targets for May...
    * Raise another £325 for MBNA
    * Do NOT overpay 0% card
    * Leave all money saving until after the 13th
    * Chase Tax Credits again

  • Aims for May:

    > List more things on eBay
    > Sort out insurances (car+b/down, dog and contents) plus look into Life Insurance for both of us
    > Sort out MOT
    > Phone Vodafone and find out when my contract is up
    > Phone Thames Water and get my credit back (apparently 3 letters isn't enough:mad: )
    > Cancel two CCs, leaving the last two to be paid, plus my 'spends' card - altho its not allowed out to play until after we are DF!
    > Re-list Amazon items
    > Get OH sorted for Childcare Vouchers
    > Get MAC code from AOL and switch to our free BB on Sky

    Evening all,

Things to do in May are:-

Keep within my grocery budget (1st month of Grocery Challenge)
Bank commission cheque from Kays catalogue (if it ever gets here)
Bank £20 MutualPoints cheque (ditto above)
Sell one of my cars and possibly the oven for scrap
Do some gardening and plant some veg in the garden
Check out Pigsback and other earning sites (or Piggysback as I called it the other night! lol)
Have a go at Ebaying some stuff (a mate is selling for me atm)
I have the boot of my car empty and the seats down in readiness for saving stuff destined for the skip at work - it's amazing what they chuck out! Actually, no, not amazing - it's disgusting!
Make planters from 2 pallets I already saved from the skip and use them to create raised beds for aforementioned veg patch
Try to make a solar convector heater (as seen on the web)
Chop up my grapevine before it gets too out of control and train it properly this year!

I think that's it for now

Hope we all achieve as much as possible and reduce our debts somewhat in May.

    Good luck all

    Poo

Oooh! Just thought of something really important! I must start claiming my car mileage! I must be owed a small fortune and will lose 2 day's salary from end of May's salary for strike action taken in April. The mileage should cover it.

    :hello: Hello! :hello:

My first month putting down my aims, hope it gives me the kick I need!

    * Make the full £310 in the £10 a day challenge
    * To do this I'm going to sell on ebay, amazon, play and greenmetropolis
    * Accept any overtime offered (rarely happens but might over the next few weeks, fingers crossed)
    * Take £10 out on a Thursday to last me the week (spends for myself)
    * Have at least 3 NSD's over the week
    * Get my bum into gear with my business stuff I've been procrastinating over.
    * Spend only £10 a week on fuel (easliy do-able now I've got a small car again :D )
    * Cancel the Credit Card Repayment Cover so I'm paying off more debt
    * Pay at least £500 to my Credit Card

That's all I can think of at the moment

    Great thread...:T

Money wise..I have only 1 aim for May: That this be the first month (EVER!) that we live within our means!!!! Have used savings to clear any debts (and pay for £1000 worth of repairs to my car  last month!) Still have some savings..but don't want to touch them again!!

We've started saving properly for things...I've now saved the balance for our holiday in August...so am now moving onto the spending money!!

We have a weekly cash allowance each...and that's it!! No more popping to the cash point for another £20-30 per time!!!

Our budget is set & very do-able. I know we're in a good position compared to some at the moment. However with EVERYTHING increasing in price.....we've got to be careful!!

I'm trying to get back into posting regularly, using my spending diary etc.....it's amazing how, a few months away from posting on a regular basis has such huge effects on the amount you spend!!!!!

Haven't had chance to read all the posts but good luck all!!!!:D
