Virgin Hike Prices

Hello.
Just thought this might be of interest to some of you. I recieved a letter this morning stating that my virgin media services will all be going up by £1 as of 1st June.
Conversation went like this:
ME: Why have my prices gone up? I signed a 12 month deal LAST month, and now you hike the prices as soon as my grace period is over, NOT IMPRESSED.
THEM: In your T&C there is a claus where VM can vary package prices/call charges whenever they feel it is necessary.
ME: So having agreed a price with sales and signed up to a 12 month contract AGREEING that price, what your telling me is VM are allowed to chop and change the details of the contract as they see fit? And that theres nothing I can do about this price hike?
THEM: Yes.
ME: OK BYE.
Later I found that if you register with "paperless billing" they reduce your bill by £1, but if my three services have gone up by £1 each, and by signing up to paperless billing they reduce my bill by £1, they have basically just robbed me of £2 a month because they felt like it.
Is this true? Have I understood it right?
Unbelieveable if it is.

Is there any reason why anyone in this world still has paper billing?
Anyway, yes the services are going up as far as i know. Going by what you're saying its an extra 0.03p a day (I'm sure i could sleep at night on that). With regards to the legalities yes they have clauses in the terms & conditions that they can change the price of the services as long as they give you prior warning (usually a month, which in this case they have).
