I am with Talktalk-phone and broadband. My experience of their customer service in India is that its diabolical!Drives me mad-hanging on for ever and then like OP then being told no details of having phoned before! My son has been waiting for a modem for a month and they phone ever other day-my pregnant daughter in law has been reduced to tears by the attitude and asked to speak to manager and they cut her off!so be prepared!!!!!!

LOL, this is so true however I have now learned that as soon as I phone up I need to state that I want to speak a) to someone who knows what they're talking about and b) to someone in the UK.

I used the Talk Talk 'phone offering on three lines, I ended up regarding them as an incompetent, hostile contractor, everything in writing and e-mailed back to them as a record, cc e-mails to Dunstone mentioning breach of contract, I saved a few shekels but the time and effort was substantial. The problems can fixed but only at a higher level, the call centre staff are appalling.

    Never again.
  • I've been with Talktalk now for 15 months no problem at all. Also use their Broadband. No problems either. If you want to transfer back to BT you can do so free of charge. I received a flyer from them the other day telling me so.

    hi,
my deal is only for the calls. so i keep my bt line rental and my sky broadband. the only way i am going to switch my broadband is when i move into an area with cable internet.

i am a bit sceptical cos it doesnt mention on their website that it is free to all conutries except the carribeans. so thats why i got that in writing on top of the usual contract printed form. they did mention that they will return the money if i find otherwise. and there is no minimum contract. so cant loose.

must admit i've used talk talk for 4 years now and very happy with the service. Just went onto a £25.99 deal / month which incorporates broadband, TT line rental, free landline calls all day and 100 mins of mobile phone useage. Thought that was ok.
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

I joind talk talk end off march as the sales person said to me that they were doing a deal of one off payment off £29.99 for connection and first month free :T but after a poor service like not being able to get on to my on line A/C I decided to cancel as there is a 30 day trial no quibble cancelation well when i did wot a hassle i founf out my first bill would be £38.56 due to connection and line rental Etc so i argued thats not wot i was quoted by sales person after about nearl 1 hour arguing on the phone they said they would waver the cost and i would pay £29.99 so i didnt cancel thay said wait 1 week before i could view my online bill  after another 3 calls and finally getting online to my A/C only to see my BILL is £53.34  but its to late to cancel now as the £0 days have run out on 30th april and just had anothe arguement with india explaing wrong info give to me i am now waiting for phone call back from manager to explain to yet another person about wrong info given to me in the first place so i am now not a happy person  with talk talk i have stopped my direct debit till they sort this out /
  • I signed up to TalkTalk for phone in Feb 2006 and then the broadband in April on the day it was launched. I initially had problems getting the broadband connected and this was finally sorted 3 weeks after I was originally supposed to be connected. I then later had problems with voice calls after they carried out work at the BT exchange. This problem had to be fixed 3 times before it was finally resolved. However, I have now been problem free for nearly 18 months. I'm on the £20.49 package which covers all my local, national and international calls and Broadband with a 40Gig download limit.
    For non-geographical numbers 0870, 0845 etc I use saynoto0870.
In retrospect, I'm glad that I switched to them even with all the initial hassles. The simple fact is that BT is too expensive and I don't use Sky.

BT is indeed not a nice company. I had to pay 125 connection fee even though this property had a BT box. and the biggest proof is that this property had a sky connection and u cant get sky unless u have BT. the engineer who came to install it did tell us that this property already had BT line. BT charged me inspite of numerous letters. they kept on saying that as per their records this property doesnt have BT. i dont have the contact details of the previous tenants nor do the home owner have those details. so its a no-win.
and its a shame that if u r in a non-cable area BT is the only option if u want broadband as well. but now i wud opt for mobile broadband but never give BT anymore of my hard earned money
