    I think all banks do the standard BACS payment. CHAPS is for same day transfer.

    Ihave access to my mother's account and when required use that, but Abbey don't do BACS (or so they told me). And you have to be there in person.

    I'm sorry but that's bull. Abbey do do BACS - my friends have accounts there and that's how they pay their rent. They do not have a standing order set up so send it monthly on an ad hoc basis.

    I will be confronting my Abbey branch tomorrow because I asked for a BACS today and they said it couldn't be done and the CHAPS would cost me £25.00!

    CHAPS is done in branch but BACS are done mostly online or via telephone banking. I am not sure of they can be done in branch.

    I'm also on t-mobile and I've just called them to ask about this and apparently it's fine to pay with your cashplus card again. I've never had a problem but I hadn't used it for my phone for a while.
