why would you think the extras are of low quality

We have just bought our second new build. The first we lived in for 8 years and everything looks as good now as it did all those years ago
  • Thanks for your comments, we wont be walking away from the house as its the best price, area and option for us.

We live in a new build at the moment and would only buy a new build now!

Not sure if you were referring to me Glen? but i dont think the extra's are low quality, i only said they were rubbish as the dont cost Persimmon very much and we would rather have money off the house.

Thanks for your reply Doozergirl, you have really reasurred us that its possible to get this house :D Unfortunaley we cant forget about their 5% as we would be using everything to cover the other 5% and can only really progress on a 90% mortgage.

Our plan is to make a cheeky offer this Friday and just leave it - i imagine they will turn us down flat but hopefully come back to us in a week or so once they realise we wont do the running. Whether or not it works is yet to be seen!!

I made a cheeky offer today on a persimmon house, i offered £175,000 plus I wanted £10,000 of 'upgrades' but i have a straight refusal. The house has beed advertised at £199,999.

I will leave it at that, the have 6 out of the 6 they built sat empty, internal walls are not built as they will not carry on until the are reserved.

Hope you get on better that I did.

Persimmon have been struggling of late and have had quite a downturn on turnover. I would imagine a good deal can be struck if you're prepared to hold out for it.

    Good luck

It's a whole game, not a penalty shoot out.

get dialogue going, get the offer put forward to the sales manager, ask them what their best price is, just get into their heads. When a target needs to be hit and they need a sale, they will be more likely to start talking to you.

If you really want the place and are in a good position to proceed with that price show them some evidence. Raising money to buy is a problem so an illustration that you are in a strong position will be another string to your bow.
