Merry i was exactly the same. Even ended up screaming at one chap at work cause he just would not shut up and leave me to my thougts. He took my silence personally. Everything just went round and round and round in my head from the time i got up till the time i went to bed,i drove myself mad keeping on about it to myself:D
Believe me court was a walk in the park,i never got to see the judge and the OR was a beaut. Was a nervous wreck at the time but loking back now realise the 12 mths before bc did far more harm to my health, marriage, kids than bc ever would.
My reccomendation is do it as soon as poss.

Hang in there Merry,
This bit is the hardest- making the decision and dealing with all the stuff that comes with it. I used to dread going to work, it was really hard being normal with people when I was getting my court date sorted/dealing with the 20 plus creditor calls per day etc. At times I just wanted to sit and think about judges/BROs/hardline ORs etc etc and Id have colleagues wittering in my ear about their weekends and "did I see Coronation Street/Eastenders/etc last night". I dont know how I managed to retain my fake calm. I wanted to scream at people and run off home to hide under the bed.
Honestly, it DOES get easier. Im about 5 weeks "in", and its slowly dawned on me how much better life is already- I worry about the house/BROs still but that awful pressure when I was trying to endlessly juggle credit/worry about having enough money for (food)shopping has gone. The worst of the stress has drained away- Im not saying I found bankruptcy easy- it was a total nightmare at times and I think Ill feel anxious for a while yet- but it does get better.
Once you actually do the deed- its not as bad as you think. I was pretty lucky, my county court were lovely, didnt see the judge and my OR was really pleasant and,I thought, very reasonable. From what Ive read on here, that seems to be the case for most people- and Im sure it will be for you too.
I found a couple of glasses of wine usually helped;)0 -
I'm back!!! Had a major snuggle with two of my DDs and refused to even think about anything other than how lovely they are. Back on track.
Been doing the maths for the house deposit, admin fees, etc and we need to find £2,800. With cancelled DDs, next month's mortgage payment, etc we have about enough. :T
Question : for paying the fees at court, do we pay cash or cheque? At the moment that extra £1,000 is looming large as something that is slowing us down
My huge thanks to Dalip, Waspeze, Blind as a Bat and PhilnicandAmy for your lovely lovely messages earlier - the tears were good ones, I promise :AGet free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Cash only, on the day i'm afraid:D A cheque takes a few days to clear and by then your account will be uselessThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0

That's pretty much what we thought. Hmmm, wonder if I can claim for a bodyguard walking around with £1,000 in our pockets!!:eek:Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
