camforuman wrote:Hi there,
I have signed up to a number of these offers with the money to be taken by direct debit. What I used to do was to notify the company just before the full amount was payable after the 3 issues and then cancel the direct debit, but what I do now is let them take the £1 and then just cancel the direct debit, without actually notifying them. Just wondering if I do this are they still oblidged to send me the full number of issues that they initally stated are free for the £1 as I still have paid them?
I agree that you will still get your free issues but I have a word of caution with this cos I got caught out earlier this year. If you subscribe to several magazines under the same publisher you will have taken out several individual DDs. Now, if you cancel the DD for magazine A and B but still have a DD in force for magazine C the publishers will take the DDs for magazines A and B through that DD for magazine C and it becomes very difficult to argue it out and get your money back cos you haven't told them you want to cancel. I would definitely recommend cancelling with the magazine as well as your bank. Saves a lot of hassle.0 -

Anyone seen any special offers for "Word" magazine - a music mag that you don't see in very many places but the subs charge is huge for the year. They are doing 1 year for £39 rather than the usual £60 but anyone seen any freebie offers etc...?0

The July issue of Zest magazine has a voucher on page 72 to claim a 15ml tube of Clinique's Water Therapy Foot Smoothing Cream (normally £15 for 125ml). To claim, you need to take the voucher to your nearest Clinique counter.
Maybe not worth buying the magazine specially, but if you get it anyway then it's a good freebie. I subscribed 2 months ago to get the FREE Addidas fragrances and since then I have got a voucher to claim a scrummy Dior moisturiser worth £15. So I am well pleased with Zest - totally worth the initial outlay of £3!!!
I love freebies!! :j
