Have you tried any local firms that can do scratch/chips work at all?

I often seen in my area that they advertise. I am tempted to ask myself as I got some rust on rhs wing where it joins and paint has bubbled. My car is metallic green (pacific green) and paint seems hard to get hold off

Some Toerag has keyed/coined 2 door panels of my car.

I have tried T-Cut and Turtle colour repair, with not much joy.
Is there any goods products out there that i can repair these scratches.

Dont want to claim on my insurance.

Where was your Car parked? If it was outside your house on the street it might not be worth touching it up as said Toerag might see it again and decide he/she will have another go.

It happened to my car. Someone keyed it from the front to back but they didnt break the paint work. Anyway it cleaned up with T-cut. However a few days later obviously the same person must of seen it and decided to make a good job of it as they obviously weren't imprssed with their first go . So I've left it now.
  • Hi,
AutoExpress did a comparison (2-4-08 issue) on products for repairs on stone chips and scratches. The Smart kit (£29.99) was Recommended but the Mer Scratch & Stone Chip Removal Kit (£30) was a Best Buy (only because it comes with a DVD not a video as the Smart kit). http://www.merproducts.com

If you read my other post you will notice i have used these firms, however they only do repairs on accident or vandalised panels and wont consider panels that have rust damage. This is what the man from chips away told me.

That may be the case but I wasn't actually mentioning mobile companies, I dont know about other towns but there are so local firms in my area that will do scratches/dints etc.

My previous post was referring to the OP I only suggested after I answered his plight about suggesting going to one of these places that advertise to do your car, I was implying a mobile service at all

They may or may not be available to do it but they must be other places that do chips, scratches and not those franchise places like chips away

Thanks I had a look when it was posted above. I needed a number of the paint, I managed to find it under the bonnet

I liked to get rid of some of the rust and a bit of paint that has flaked off in odd place

Where under the bonnet is the colour code?
