Need the phone to ring for longer?
I have a new Sony w800i. Great phone, but it only rings for 8 seconds before going to answerphone. I often miss a call, how do i change that? Is it the phone? Vodafone? or something else?

It should be in the settings for your phone. Maybe under call divert?Just run, run and keep on running!0

It's a code you need to type into the handset along with your mailbox number.
Dial 191 from your handset and ask the operator for the code and your mailbox number.
It's a max of 30 seconds before the call diverts.0 -
Do you want any calls to be diverted? if not just go in and cancel all diverts and that should solve the problem. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Thanks. I called Vodafone and they helped me out to get the 30 seconds Max. I would not have been able to do it without their help I think. Lots of ** ## and numbers to punch into the keypad... complicated things, phones?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

Yeah it is a big number/process
It's just practise like anything else.0 -
It's not that complicated, you can alter many things on your phone using GSM codes. Take a look at https://www.mobileshop.org/usertech/gsmcodes.htm for a full list.

That's very interesting SIM.
Usefull stuff. I called Vodafone for free and they talked me through it. I like a hands off approach to some things.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Used to work for Voda so... another way is for people who regret having voicemail (cost), is to turn it off (via customer services or dial 1210) and then your calls can't divert, so it'll ring for longer. C/S can flick a switch to give you the maximum ring time... but they shouldn't have to make you do anything.
Another new (free) service is called Call Catcher, which for any missed calls it can text you with the details of upto 12 of them over a 72hr period; not the ones that went to voicemail tho, coz you'll know about them!
Vodafone Call Catcher or dial 1481 for free info. The code to activate (for free) is *148#, the texts you get are free too, there's 2 formats for receiving them.0
