Stoopid seller, stoopid packaging !!

Won an auction for a rare gravy boat (I know, I know, but my mum collects them and I thought it`d be nice to cheer her up)..

Anyway arrived this morning - wrapped in TISSUE PAPER, in a DIY box covered in parcel tape - I mean !!!!!! !!!

There was not a chance in heck that it would`ve survived the zoo that it Royal Mail delivery warehouses... Have emailed the seller, and am waiting for a response.

Just hope she wasn`t so stupid as not to forget her Proof of postage.

if she has then it is her problem as she didn't package it well enough. Hope you paid by paypal otherwise you could have a fight on your hands for a refund

I received an old westminster chime clock once wrapped in tissue paper and a plastic bag... unsurprisingly it was smashed to bits. It was advertised as fully working in the auction as the seller had used it up until its sale. I took it into my local clock shop who confirmed that there was no way this clock had worked for years as it was missing a vital part.

I had a sneaking suspicion the seller knew the clock was broken and had packaged it badly knowing it would get smashed to bits so she could claim for a new clock. I filed with paypal and got a full refund, but I also sent photo's of the packing to RM just in case she tried to claim it was their fault.

Thanks for that - seller only got a Proof of postage - the postage cost her just under £2, even though she charged me £5 !!

Think she intends on sending me the POP and have me claim for it myself. ShouldI just file a paypal dispute? or wait for the POP to arrive ?

its up to the seller to claim from royal mail - not you.

i would ask for a full refund (inc posting) and take photo's etc of packaging and email them to them if they require.

if they insist on receiving item back - send it by a tracked method - that way you would be covered in any paypal claim

personally, I'd bubble wrap it, then box it with foam peanuts just to be safe :)

I brought perfume off ebay before and sellers tend to send it in its original packaging inside a bubble wrap envelope with fragile written over it.

    Always comes in 1 piece.
