please help! what do you think I should say when asking for charges to be waived

Options
hi there... opinions if you could please...<O:p</O:p
<O:p
BACKGROUND:<O:p</O:p
I am usually really good with my money and haven't had any charges for well over a year now.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

I have tried twice in the past to be granted with a small overdraft buffer (of say, £50) but they have always refused.<O:p</O:p
<O:p
THE SITUATION:<O:p
I get paid weekly and a few weeks back, my agency 'forgot' to pay me. hmm, yes well, a direct debt came out of my bank, followed by another the following day...hence, I paid 2 fees of £25 each. (sinking further into the red).
<O:p
Well, what can I do? I had no money coming in for another few days, so I lived off of what I had in the cupboards.<O:p
<O:p
Then, when checking my account today online I notice that they are charging me £5 per day for going over my overdraft limit. Totaling another £50.00....!!!!

This seems really, really unfair, as I feel I’ve already paid £50.... I’m was in the red though no fault of my own.<O:p
<O:p
Now, it states on the website....<O:p</O:p
If a transaction is presented for payment and there is not enough money in your account to cover the amount of the transaction, we will decide whether to make a payment. If this happens, you will incur a Payment Review Fee of £25 for each transaction.

If we decide to make the payment, this fee will be taken from your account at the time we make the payment and a letter will be sent to you to tell you this has happened.

If we decide not to make the payment, this fee will be taken from your account at the time the payment requested. The item (such as a cheque) will be returned to the person requesting the payment and a letter will be sent to you to tell you this has happened.<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

Well, then why make the decision to pay the first direct debit in the first place?
If they had charged me, but not made the payment, then I wouldn’t have been overdrawn. But they didn’t... they charged me, made the payment and then started charging me £5 per day for being overdrawn!!!!<O:p</O:p
To make matters worse, now overdrawn, when a direct debit comes through the next day, they do the same again!!!!<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p

Well done if you’re still following this!<O:p</O:p
What should I say when I call them???<O:p</O:p
<O:p</O:p
