Hi Surfbabe!! Sounds like the wii fit is fun!! We don't have one, although the children would love to have one - they know, though, that they can't have things like that AND ski stuff........choices, choices!!!

Hi Seaxwyn, you were on my thread while I was on yours!! Spooky!!

Basically I have realised that I am not superwoman, however much I would like to think that I am......(housework excluded).....

So, I cannot keep up with all the things I am trying to do without risking exhaustion, breakdown, divorce or all three.........

    So.......

I am going to give up college - I had 3 assignments to be in yesterday and only one has been started - I have been granted an extension, but even if I get that lot done, there is another to be done before the middle of June.

I know that I have put in an awful lot of work so far, and that I am "throwing it away" but it is not relevant to my new job, and I need to make the new job the priority as it has the best potential for getting me debt free and allowing us in due course to do some of the things that we would love to be able to do like have a "real" holiday and change the car etc.......

Similarly, at the moment I do admin for karate in order to get one child free lessons....this saves me £31 a month, but to get that £31 I have to go straight from work to karate, get home at 9pm and am starving, and tired. It is time to start working out whether it really is worth that saving of £31 or whether I can make that up elsewhere. Again, the priority has to be the main job - if I am too tired to work efficiently in what is a very pressured job, I will not get the recognition that I need, crave and deserve.

I need the energy to get on top of the things I need to do -yes that includes the bloody housework........and as things stand, I don't have the time or energy to eat yet alone anything else.

All I want is for the books to balance, and to have a space I can come home to at a reasonable time, and to either work in a stress free tidy space, or to put my feet up with a glass of wine or a decent cup of coffee........is it really too much to ask for

    Any ideas?

£31 is about a pound a day, you could make that in one Saturday's MB easily, even when the season is quiet. I think piece of mind always wins.

Thanks Gemmz - it is all about getting this bloomin balance right isn't it?

I have taken on the biggest job of my life, which I love, and which I hope to make a success. I would be devastated if I made a mess of it because I was exhausted.

  • I agree with Gemmzie... This job is a very high paid and high pressured job and you are doing the right thing to re evaluate things. Before you had more flexibility when you worked for yourself. Is it possible the kids could have one lesson less per mth each?

In this new job compared to the last job you just left do you earn enough extra to cover that £31 and also a cleaner and still have extra?

IMO I would get a cleaner even if its only once a fortnight to keep on top of the main cleaning for you. You are fantastic at earning the money let someone else do the cleaning.

You so need to look after yourself
