Hi there - back from a fab time in Venice - but rather alarmed to look at the bank account when I got back! Time methinks to really get back to the DFW in earnest. Will work out new budgets, plans, and do some checking to see if I can reduce costs - it has been 18 months or so since I last did that. Might then start a new diary to keep me going - if someone will promise to occasionally visit me there...!

How are things in hypnoland? Haven't had a chance to catch up on the 3 million messages since last week! :rotfl:

hi Guys! Welcome back Mizmir! and to all those who are feeling poorly - I hope you are soon feeling better.

Well, a long day yesterday - work was good - I will soon get right back into the swing of things. Although the "work" is the same as I have done before, this firm has very different procedures, so some "settling in" with those required over the next week or so.

Then I went straight to college so by the time I got home I was ready for my bed! Slept well, and ready to do it all again today.

Another long day today - work then straight to the karate admin job. Hopefully will catch up when i get home!

After the first couple of months i can get on with a reasonable amount of overpaying. However, because I have been without pay for a few weeks, I have a little "catching up" to do with the finances - also we don't have any more income from the student lodger now until September, so that is money that is unavailable to us at the mo!

But, basically, the job makes everything less worrying financewise......even without the student income, we should be able to eat, which was not always guaranteed this time last year!!

I was very good too - someone had a birthday and I resisted cake......and I was really early, so I went to a coffee shop for a latte, and even resisted the swirly chocolate biscuit thing that they gave me!

Glad it went well.
Just doing a half day today thankfully although it's an early start so still some decent hours. Yesterday I got home with 15 mins to spare before starting my proper job-luckilly it was quiet last night. Hoping for the same tonight whilst I get into the groove of doing both.

Never ceases to amaze me how kids can turn up for exams without the most basic of equipment. Yesterday was Maths and a startling amount didn't have rulers and calculators !!
First GCSE for DS today-German oral. He went into school on Monday for a final workshop (now that's dedication!!) and says he feels reasonably confident so fingers crossed.
