I think matched betting is going to be my summer holiday target ... I have 6 weeks off work, and what with the olympics and the footie season starting again I reckon it could make a good challenge for me over the holidays ;) Would €1000 over the 6 weeks be feasible?? :D

I wouldn't touch the Olympics benben, far too risky.

Depends how much you start with and how many bookies you've already done

£1000 is a very achieveable target, benben, but I would stick to football - far less can go wrong there, and the rules are the same generally with the bookies and betfair, whereas some sports have different rules at different bookies which could catch you out, and be costly.

Get reading.....you could make a start on Euro 2008.........:D

Taxi, the totals aren't that impressive..........yet!!! They will hopefully be much bigger by the end of the year!

Gemmzie, thanks for the tip about the olympics, I just assumed it didn't matter what you bet on, so thank you for saving me from losing god knows how much lol  :D As you can tell I haven't started any matched betting yet :o

Hypno, I'd forgotten all about eur0 2008 starting on saturday, right, thats my mission this week, to read all the matched betting stuff (again  ), I have read it a few times before and made notes on it :o:o and I think I get the idea behind it, but I do need to read through it all again a couple of times to try and get it all clear :o:o:D

benben, there are "friendlies" on this week before Euro 2008 starts.....you could have a "dummy run" or two to make sure you have got the right idea!

Go for it benben - we will all be here to check things over for you if you need a hand as well. Make sure you get the cashbacks for bookies as well - I am always forgetting that and just signing up then finding I have missed money from cashback  .

£1000 is very doable in 6 weeks if you have a reasonable float to start with - you'll need at least £50 - if you have more you can do a couple at once. With less float then you are a little at the mercy of the way the bets settle - if at the bookie it can delay you while you wait for it to come back into your account. But if you have a little slack you can carry on while you are waiting.

I have just laid my first bet on Euro2008 - for Sat Gemmzie so I do them in advance too!
