    Is this a business trip?

    I know some travel insurance covers business trips. Does to OP's other half require insurance that covers such a thing?

  • Obviously I don't know if he is covered by any company insurance, or on a credit card policy, or anything like that, but I would definitely get insurance, especially for the U.S.A. It may only be for three days, but that's not the point. It can be extremely expensive over there should anything untoward happen. I don't want to scare you, but a friend of mine was involved in a serious car accident last year and the hospital charges were over US$ 1 million !! (she has almost made a full recovery now).

    EDIT: Sorry, just noticed you had already got the insurance now - a good decision! :)
