Actually, given that we've been living together for nearly 11 years, I'm ashamed how little Hebrew I know! DS is overtaking me at the moment.

I can hold basic domestic conversations, such as drinks / grub / nappy changes / bedtime / baths, all of that. And thanks to DS' and OH's joint obsession with vehicles, I know lots of useful words foe engine, wheels, wings, tail fin....

The reading / writing side is a total mystery to me, must admit.

Can I just add my support to Roxie here, good luck with the lanuguage teaching. unfortunately it seems like parenting queries on this board attract really unhelpful, malicious and spiteful responses from a minority of very sad people - I know how you feel.

Very controlled reply. :) I might have been inclined to mention Pavlov's insufficient grasp of capital letters myself! :D

Thanks claire and lunar - looking forward to our hol now. Going to try to get ds1 to practice his spanish there, although he's a little shy. Hopefully if we make an effort, he'll follow suit.

Hope you have a great holiday!

We went to Israel in November, when DS was 2 and 4 months. (We'd gone the previous January, but he didn't remember that). He was astonished to see other people speaking the language he thought was private between him, his Abba, and his uncle!
