Hello, I'm making a crumble for my sister and she wants it for New Years Day, I will be seeing my brother in law tomorrow night...will it keep until thursday? Also, whats the best way to make it keep? Cook it and get her to warm it through, or leave it uncooked for her to do?

    Thanks!

I would leave it uncooked and refridgerated. Can't see why it shouldn't be fine as the fat used would be kept in the fridge anyway.

I'd leave it uncooked, covered with cling film or similar and give her instructions to keep it cool and for cooking..
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I like to keep a bag of crumble mix in the freezer for when I am in a hurry. Just keep the crumble mix in the fridge and put it on top of the fruit at the last minute.

I do both of the above. I have kept the crumble mix in the fridge in a sealed bag for a couple of days and i have frozen the mix in a bag as well. I have in the past cooked the apple and put the mix on top and then frozen the whole thing. Have a nice new year !

Thanks for your replies, I'll leave it uncooked and let her know to put it in the fridge.

Is it ok to freeze slice cooking apple in a bag? I've got a load of apples I can't use yet?

I freeze cooked apple slices, but I'm not sure about fresh ones.

You might need to blanch the cooking apples if they're raw, or toss them in lemon juice to stop the enzymatic browning from taking place, as freezing won't stop the browning from happening
