I don't think Labour should be rewarded (with votes) for their bad behaviour.
It has always surprised me that they have hit their own voters the hardest, and yet those people still (blindly?) vote for them
Perhaps it is because their parents and grandparents have always voted Labour? RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

LabourCan't believe the stupidity of people who think the conservatives will somehow do better. They are all as bad as each other. Tony Blair is correct though.... GB doesn't stand a chance against DC. I will not vote as I don't believe any party is currently worthy of my vote.
(though I voted labour for the benefit of this just to cancel out 1 tory vote!)0 -

It's generally a class issue. Tories get the middle class vote, labour get the working class. Yes, it's a generalisation, but it holds water.0 -

I don't think they'll do better at all, they're a bunch of numpty's like the current lot...... I simply can't stand GB. I'll be voting for whoever stands the most chance of throwing him out.0 -
ConservativesI would vote for the party that appealed to my back pocket, simple as really.0

I think Labour will be losing quite a lot of the working class votes as the working classes have finally realised that they are being punished when in direct comparison to the stay at home scrounging brigade. Only under a labour government, it is more beneficial to claim benefits than to go out and work.
Labour have given people a choice...Work, or scrounge. This option should not be there. Google 'benefits trap' and see how many millions of people it affects
You of course may be right, the tories may or may not be any better than the imbeciles we have in charge at the moment but i think its time for a change and this alone is a worthy reason for electing them into power. I.e a change.
The NOTW article appeals to the majority of the working classes, it's Britains biggest selling newspaper and reaches far many more homes than any other. Their own opinion polls are showing exactly the same as this 1....
Labour are getting booted:T (Labour at the moment on MSE show a 13%)0 -

Many of the middle class people that I know actually vote Lib Dem. I am only going to vote Lib Dem because I hate the current government but can't bring myself to vote tory.
But come election time a huge swathes of middle - upper class Hertfordshire is covered in Lib Dem signs, and the career-women-turned-older-mums who sit at the pavement cafes chatter about Lib Dems and how wonderful they are. I don't know whether they do it to prove a point, but it certainly seems fashionable! This is an area with a high proportion of middle class families who move out from London in their late 30s with enourmous city bonuses so I think Tories would be kinder on their wallets.
Labour have most certainly lost the faith of both Police Officers and doctors over the last year or so, and I imagine police officers were prime labour voters before their pay fiasco. Young doctors often vote Lib Dem (due to their long stretches as students!) or Tory if they come from a wealthy family so they might not have lost much there but they certainly haven't helped!0 -
Labour
Don't tarnish the all the working classes with the same brush. That's precisely why they don't like the Tories - because they are looked down upon as inferior, ITV-watching, NOTW-reading simpletons in some way... or at least that's the perception, and it couldn't be further from the truth. The NOTW article appeals to the majority of the working classes, it's Britains biggest selling newspaper and reaches far many more homes than any other. I haven't suggested that anyone should vote Labour, I directed Tory supporters to the fiscally libertarian arm of the Lib Dems.
There are plenty of Tory voters here - Gen, epz, Mel (though she's not been about for a while) who seem more like fiscal libertarians rather than Socialists or Tory interventionists. I'm suggesting looking for a truly radical change.
Personally I'd like to see a Montagist government introduce a land value tax, combined with a citizens income."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0
