Good morning: The OH has filed a report through Consumer Direct..details will be passed on by them to Trading Standards for further investigation. Does anyone (walshc?) know what the time frame might be for hearing back from TS?
I'll keep you posted as and when.

time scale does depend on both the local authority and the availability of a qualified officer. The report from Consumer Direct is normally sent the same day to TS (or is in my area anyway-there are various Consumer Direct centres eg one for each region) so it just depends on that being filtered through to the relevant area officer and their availability. The response can be the same day if the Trading Standards Officer is available but bear in mind that most are out and about on visits so it can take a day or two to get a message to them.
I think most Local Authorities publish a target for responding to complaints but it is likely to vary between different authorities. Sorry to be a bit vague but i would hope you would hear in the next couple of days (even if the officer isn't able to go out immediately or advises you that the pump has been tested recently etc so unable to test on this occasion)0 -
Good afternoon: Thank you very much for your response: I appreciate the time you have taken to explain the procedure .:T

Weights and Measures department are normally pretty hot on this kind of thing and do carry out random testing, its so called because fuel has a specific weight for a given quantity and pumps are normally quite accurate.'Beware of little expenses.
