    Morning all

Stripped and remade my bed. Two loads of washing done and hung up indoors (raining steadily). Dusted and vacuumed all the bedrooms. Dusted living room and vacuumed right through downstairs. Boiler has been serviced this morning.

    Coffee time now.

Ok - on to todays list. Looking after nephew & niece overnight tonight so need to be organised and staying over at IL's with them so the littlest ones can have a room on their own and we all stand half a chance of getting some sleep. (IL's are away anyway and only live round the corner).

    do dark wash
    get L's stuff ready
    get A's stuff ready
    get my stuff ready
    get DH's stuff ready
make leek & potato soup for tea
make jaffa cake flan thing for pudding
    pick up L's prescription
    get milk (both types)
    empty dishwasher
    sort out toys in lounge
    hoover lounge
    move washing from lounge
will get onto bathroom too if I have the chance

I know the list is very basic but baby steps this week for me to get me back on track. Think I'll make a start on the lounge & put a wash on whilst LO pottering. The rest I'll do when she's in bed (except for popping out for milk & medicine of course)!!!

Thanks ashbart - those pasties with beans and cheese sound yummy! and I quite agree that top of Michelle's list should be REST! (well, as much as you can with an 18 month old!) If this is really it, you've got a busy few days ahead of you - take it easy now so you're on top form. Saying that, with DD1 I went out for a drink with a friend and got in at about 11.30 but to bed at 1am, then woke up at 3am when waters broke, then DD was born at 4.30am - the next morning! Tired is not the word. By the time I was pushing her out I remember being worried that I'd fall asleep and miss the birth - as if!! Aren't drugs a wonderful thing!:rotfl:
  • Box is working again :j how sad am I?! although taping stuff doesn't mean I actually get round to watching it....

Getting there slowly but surely today. Need to do abit of tiding in the kitchen and our room, then start the bathroom. Ordered stuff of simplybe a week ago so that should hopefully arrive soon even tho the whole lot will be sent back got abit down and ordered loads and now that i think about it i really don't need any of it. Usually i'd keep it anyway but i think :money: has been kicking in and i now know i can do without.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

The May Grocery Challenge thread has started for those of you who were interested.

Thanks - thinking of joining this month - quick question though - I went shopping yesterday & bought food for the week so does this count for May? I'm assuming you'll say yes, just wishful thinking that it won't and I'll be ahead!

pigpen positive money vibes to you. You sound a bit down today. Don't be so hard on yourself. Most of us find it hard dealing with a few people's worth of unexpected, when you multiply that by the number of people you are dealing with it must be very hard to be on an even keel. Plus, things like school uniform that is normally in the summer hols, so you can't feel too bad about that. Hope that money comes easily to you so it will ease your stress, and hope you manage to get someone who can watch tiddles for you.

I had a dream last night that i was at a party at your house for some reason. It was so lively with lots of people particularly kiddies. Don't know what made me dream of that.

i've had a brain wave :j i'm going to print out these daily lists and laminate them, then i can cross off as i go along. will pin them up in the kitchen.
i expect lots of you organised people already do that! but i'm new to all this and feeling quite excited about the prospect of getting on top of all the chores:D

    Um - no - I haven't!

What a good idea, though! You're going to fit in really well, Donna :D

I have had a trying day today, not a flying one.

Trying - to learn new job
Trying - to remember everyones names
Trying - to look like I know what I'm doing
Trying - to remember whether to 'enter' or 'tab' on computer

Argh - I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but I'm not feeling very confident at present.

    Must away to bed.

    Have a great day, everyone.
