Afternoon all
Sarah looks lovely, Johanne.
I've done more or less everything in the kitchen, hob done but not oven. Getting new one in a couple of weeks and I'm really going to try to keep that clean from the start......I can remember saying that last time.....
I've given the living room a good clean, pulled the furniture out and moved all the ornaments and cleaned them and the shelves. Vacuumed right through downstairs and I did the stairs too. Emptied the vacuum and put a new filter in.
One load of washing done. I hung it outside for a couple of hours then brought it in to finish off so I could get the grass cut (the grass flicks up on the washing otherwise). Back and front done, edged and swept up. Lucky - it's pouring with rain now.
My compost bin got delivered this morning so I've found a place for that but nothing in there yet. I'm not sure how I'm going to get on with that, the instructions make it sound a bit complicated.
Good luck with the job embb's DD.
Can't remember anything else...0 -
ty for the remider PollyBear our composter sounded a bit dry last night (tumbler type - before I confuse everyone :rotfl: ) off to water it in a min...
Sky engineer arranged, found invoice for flights - cheque now in post - and since I was on a roll I transfered flight money into the right account before I put it in the postAll non dishwasher suitable stuff washed and sink cleaned.
We currently have 4 baskets of ironing - off to do something about that...0 -
thanks for all your comments. can you tell me what i'm doing wrong....
mine aren't allowed tv in the morning Good idea neither are mine and they're not allowed to play unless everything is ready....therefore, they never get to play. they have to get dressed before they have breakfast as at least that way when i throw them out of the door they are ready, lol.
ok, i wake them a 720am as they asked for ten minutes coming round time. i'm going to stop this though as it's not working. they actually get up at 730 and are supposed to get dressed. this morning this took 40 minutes!!!ok what were they doing during this time then? i try not to yell like a fish wife, i try very hard!!! then it's breakfast. dd eats it quite quickly, ds takes for ever what is he having - can it be changed to something quicker to eat? If not set the timer and tell him once it rings the bowl will be removed and washed - he'll get the message and some people are more morning eaters than others - yeah I know he is off to school - smoothie, milk?. it normally ends up with them not finishing it and having to go and clean their teeth. i don't let them in the bathroom at the same time as they mess around. I also do not have more than one in a bathroom - we have toothbrushes upstairs and down so they can clean at the same time in separate roomsthis morning dd pushed ds nearly resulting in a toothbrush down his throat (she has pushed him a lot in the last few weeks). she then threw some toys at me, one of which i tripped on and landed on my bad hand. Kids are plain vile - don't worry about this at this point i walked away as i seriously wanted to kill her (not seriously but you know what i mean!!). invariably as we're leaving the house she tells me she needs piano, running kit for extra one off activities at school. this is despite have a time table on the door of which activities they have when and me asking the night before what extra things they have the next day. i'm afraid i just tell her it's too late to sort things out if she leaves it until the last minute.Good ploy is it sinking in? Can you ask here the night before or when she gets up to teach her some skills? she has become friendly in the last month with a child which everyone is telling me is bad news. the thing is, whilst i can not encourage it by not having this child back here i can't really choose her friends for her. You are right you can't and she will learn in time
sorry i'm going on a bit but i want to sort this out. i've just done a chart of the things they have to do each day - not a huge amount but the things they're supposed to do like get bag ready for next day, 3x5 mins homework. i refuse to do everything for them as this won't help them in the long run.
on the whole dd is a lovely child but she just has these moments and they are coming more often at the moment. any ideas? xx
Tick charts for them to cross off what they have done. Getting one child up early and leaving one in bed so that you are halving the problems. Alternate the days. Send them to boarding school (ok I might be going OTT now).
Hope I've made you smile not cross kids are sent to try us especially in the mornings.
Washing has been out, in for rain and now going back out. Did 30 minutes in the garden and going to do another 30 now whilst the sun is out

Right back from the hairdressers - why do they blow dry your hair so it looks so big. Always have to damp it down when I get home.
Just having a cuppa and some lunch and then I'm going to print off my US tax forms - done some figures already so hopefully should get them finished today.
Cleaning top of the list for tomorrow.
See you later.0 -

I better be in as well this week, if you will have me. I know I keep disappearing but I am such a bad housewife, it takes me all my time to just keep up with the washing. I really need to get better organised, and stop doing fun things instead. Pigpen, please kick me into line...
I better start as I mean to go on and work my way through the school uniforms. Question: How do you make housework more bearable? It is such a thankless job, I clean it, it gets messed up, I iron it, it is back in the washing basket the next day. What do you all do to motivate yourself?
Hi! ice to see you back. I really struggle with motivation too. I just try and do it in little bits, toddler in tow so I can't really just knuckle down to the lists. Also I find it so much better to keep on top of everything rather than massive pushes at something once a week...I try and do the ironing as it dried that day, its quicker to do it straight away and I bargin with myself 'do this and then I can do something I like doing'. The bathrooms so much easier S&S everyday rather than hacking off dried toothpaste once a week. I've totally de-cluttered and de-junked so find it easy to wipe a duster around. I hate housework but know no matter how much I rant and rave no one else is going to do it so it takes less energy to do just get on with it.
I what I'm trying to say is I find it really unmotivating to see a massive task ahead, like 3 loads of washing needing ironing or the bathroom needing scrubbing so get my motivation from keeping on top of it so I have more time to do the things I like.
Hope that made some sense.:rotfl: :rotfl:Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!
Baby on board!:D0 -
