  • Mubath - not sure if it helps but am goes something like this:

Breakfast, teeth, dressed, hair, once that is done *if* they have time they can play with lego/dolls until 8 then it is shoes, blazers/coats bags and lunch boxes into the car and go, go, go!

We had to ban tv in the morning...

Most of the time everything is done the night before - their clothes are out, pe kit packed if needed, lunches made etc... although the days where they choose not to go with the routine (normally near the end of term when they need a break) are a nightmare!

I have probably missed something :rotfl:

WM on and I am dressed :D no putting off the kitchen now

Mumofjust2 - we couldn't find wiifit in any shops up here on Saturday - when we got home at 5ish I checked the argos website and there was none in stock - then read a post on here and checked again at 6/6.30 and found one so reserved and collected on Sunday.

thanks for all your comments. can you tell me what i'm doing wrong....

mine aren't allowed tv in the morning and they're not allowed to play unless everything is ready....therefore, they never get to play. they have to get dressed before they have breakfast as at least that way when i throw them out of the door they are ready, lol.

ok, i wake them a 720am as they asked for ten minutes coming round time. i'm going to stop this though as it's not working. they actually get up at 730 and are supposed to get dressed. this morning this took 40 minutes!!! i try not to yell like a fish wife, i try very hard!!! then it's breakfast. dd eats it quite quickly, ds takes for ever. it normally ends up with them not finishing it and having to go and clean their teeth. i don't let them in the bathroom at the same time as they mess around. this morning dd pushed ds nearly resulting in a toothbrush down his throat (she has pushed him a lot in the last few weeks). she then threw some toys at me, one of which i tripped on and landed on my bad hand. at this point i walked away as i seriously wanted to kill her (not seriously but you know what i mean!!). invariably as we're leaving the house she tells me she needs piano, running kit for extra one off activities at school. this is despite have a time table on the door of which activities they have when and me asking the night before what extra things they have the next day. i'm afraid i just tell her it's too late to sort things out if she leaves it until the last minute. she has become friendly in the last month with a child which everyone is telling me is bad news. the thing is, whilst i can not encourage it by not having this child back here i can't really choose her friends for her.

sorry i'm going on a bit but i want to sort this out. i've just done a chart of the things they have to do each day - not a huge amount but the things they're supposed to do like get bag ready for next day, 3x5 mins homework. i refuse to do everything for them as this won't help them in the long run.

on the whole dd is a lovely child but she just has these moments and they are coming more often at the moment. any ideas? xx

Mudbath - Right from when DD started nursery I've had alarms set on my mobile mainly for my benefit :rotfl: I have a whole list of tasks which sound an alarm and means I don't have to clock watch all day ;)
    • 7am - get DD up (gives me some time to get my bottom out of bed, 7.30 is the absolute latest I can get her up!)
    • 7.50 - Teeth 1 (warning to eat her breakfast or else basically ;))
    • 7.55 - Teeth 2 (get your bottom up the stairs and get washed etc)
    • 8.15 - Dressed
    • 8.25 - Hair
    • 8.40 - Leave (aka get coat on, check we have everything she needs, and gives me 5-10 minutes to catch up with ourselves if we've slept in ;))
Then later on for me I have
    • 2.50 - 10 mins (until I leave in theory for DD)
    • 3.00 - Leave now
    • 3.05 - Leave this second!
Works for me :rotfl: I've also got a reward chart up and DD loves her routines (a little too much at times, she gets a bit upset if we "break the repeating pattern", but distraction is a wonderful thing). There are still mornings when I sound worse than a fish-wife but she pretty much takes care of getting herself ready apart from her hair :D:D Every night she gets her uniform out and everything for school, before I go to bed I try to get the breakfast dishes out, coats, bags etc all out and ready to grab and run. Thats why I manage to get on here of a morning ;) :rotfl: She goes to bed at 7pm (7.30pm non-school nights) and then reads for 30 mins (or until 9pm non-school nights, means I get a lie-in the next day ;) ). When its time for lights out she has a meditation CD she listens to on her stereo that my mum bought me for Christmas :rotfl: Works like a charm most nights :D

I've just done an update of my finances and I'm horrified at how much I've spent this month (new tumbledrier, clothing and DD's birthday has not helped!)! Most definitely time to start a store cupboard challenge, and grocery challenge, and get as much as possible listed on ebay!:o:o:o

Right, off to sort out a menu for this week, and set up the basics for next months budget.

Johanne - Love the pic of Sarah - she is beautiful and reading your post almost made me cry. I can't wait to have a baby!! Congrats and hope you have a good first few days enjoying your little miracle.

Dustykitten - Re: the Wii fit - I have been using it quite a lot. I did 45 mins on Saturday and Sunday and it's definitely working! My muscles are sore from all of the exercising, etc. OH doesn't like it but that's because it told him he was 'Obese' - only just. I can't seem to explain to him that his muscles weigh a lot (cause of footie) and that BMI doesn't take that into account. Either way - I love it and whilst it's only been 2 days, I like the fact I can track my progress. It doesn't let you do certain activities until you have done 'x' amount of minutes/training elsewhere so, you have to use it to be able to progress, etc. It also lets you put goals, etc. I've put 1 stone in 3 months. I will let you know about other + and - as I use it more.

Ok - I will be flying as normal, this week after my long absence. My list for today:
    Killer Kitchen - Monday
    Level One
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
Open the windows and let in the spring!
    Level Two
    Sweep and Mop the floor
Clean the gacky filters and drawers from DW's, WM's etc
[strike]Wipe the cupboard fronts, all the appliances and all those manky corners!![/strike] Done on Saturday
    Level Three
Wipe the table, replace cloth if needed
Empty and clean out the fridge.. including the drain hole bit at the back..
    Clean oven/hob
Pick a cupboard and empty and clean it out and replace only what you wish to keep!
    My Extras:
    Food shopping at Mr T's
    Meal Plan
    [strike]
    Empty WM
    [/strike]
    HHE on Wii Fit
    Pay the Window Cleaner
    Call Comet re: Fridge/Freezer

Right then - full speed ahead! Have a good day everyone. Ash xx
