    Evening all. I'm in again.

Johanne - Congrats again on your absolutely beautiful baby girl. She's a real stunner.
My two looked like a couple of baked potatoes when they were first born :D .

I got through quite a bit this weekend. I eventually got around to cleaning the kitchen chairs. They look about three shades lighter now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .

Bit late but I am in for next week :) I really really need to get a grip on things this week and make the house look nice. Also I want to show Dh that I am making an effort again and not sliding off the rails (even though I feel like I am!) :D

I'll put my list up later, probably tomorrow morning.

    VA - welcome:hello:

Embb - well done to your daughter. She must be thrilled.

    From last week's thread:
Pigpen :coffee: and a few more for anyone else :coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee::coffee:

Any ideas about vacuums? We'd already changed the fuse, but DD's friend (She's and electrician) had a look and said ti could be loose wires, so I'll need to cut off the sealed plug and fit a new one. If I could have found one, she'd have done it while she was here for dinner.

Anyone fitted laminate flooring? Need some advice. I've got a problem as I have a slope down into the sunlounge, so would need to lay in wrong direction. Should go towards the light, but that would mean I would really have a jigsaw across the length of the slope, whereas if I lay at right angles to the light, I could trim the edge off the boards on the slope and use coloured sealant to close the gap to those on the flat. IYSWIM

Yes, Tia, sorry, that's me with the Kilmarnock willow and it's looking as pretty as Serena's. My children bought it for me for Mother's Day this year as DD remembered my parents having one where they lived in Harlow.

    AnW's Mum - congratulations. Enjoy a treat.

Mudbath - thinking of you for tomorrow

    Laura - I'm only 5 years older!

Pigpen - do you want to come and take my rad off so I can decorate behind it? If not, I'll just have to ask my brother. :p

jjef - love the dog in your Avatar and you've been busy (I suppose I should have taken some pics of the WIP? Oh well, you can always have some afters and take my word for it that the befores were not nice!)

Johanne - she's absolutely adorable. Congratulations to all of you!

    Davgirl1 - :rotfl:my babies are now 23 (24 in July) and 17. The 17 year old is 6'2"!

Well last week ended better than it started, anyway, with a bit of progress decorating, some Freecycling and some tipping. Got someone coming for DD's Superking mattress on Tuesday. She's decided she doesn't want to keep it as she's not moving out again anytime soon. She said she might as well just get a new one whenever she needs it, but she's keeping the frame as a friend made it for her.

Speaking of DD, she's in for her loop cone biopsy tomorrow and is getting really twitchy.

    My list for tomorrow:

Manic Monday - Kitchen, Utility and Dining Room/Area

    Level One
    Clean floors in these areas

    Level Two
    Wipe down surfaces
Wipe kitchen cupboard fronts and kickboards
Wipe down fronts of major appliances (cooker, fridge, freezer etc) and inside the microwave

    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Clean washer drawer, filters on the dryer, dishwasher and cooker hood filters
Clean the oven if missed last week or it needs it

Extra tasks - if you want to do more:

Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps, a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
Empty one shelf (or the top of a cupboard) clean it, clean what's on it and put it all back
Clean out and organize one cupboard, more if you like
Wipe & replace small appliances like kettle, toaster etc (wipe under too, especially the toaster!)

    Plus dailies as always:

    SS Kitchen, Bathroom, Shower room
    Make beds
    DW
    WM
    TD
    BM
    CM
    Feed dogs, cats and fish
    Groom dogs and cats
    Walk dogs
    Plan dinner
    Prep for work

I also need to try and fix the vacuum, ferry DD to and from hospital, ferry DS to and from school (as he can't walk that far and the LEA won't provide transport), take a package to one of our funding partners and work on the e-portfolio......BUT........I'm not working outside the home tomorrow, which I'm really happy about. (Am I hard to please, if I start looking for another job?)

Right - I have been avoiding these flylady threads forever! Walked round the house today and it's really getting me down. There a piles of stuff everywhere and my hallway is full of washed, dried and folded up clothes waiting to go upstairs to be put away (they have been there for a week) - I hate that job.

Actually I pretty much despise all the jobs i should be doing and tend to put them off. I can't do this any longer though as I want a nice clean and tidy house and have accepted that I can't wait for the fairies anymore!!!

Bit about me - I work 25 hours a week, have a dp and 2 ds aged 3 and 6, and 2 cats also. I am currently doing a OU degree in Maths and Stats which I tend to study for when the boys are in bed so about 7.30pm onwards.

There is no real reason for me not to have a spotless shiny house except I am lazy and cleaning bores me!

Will start tomorrow with level 1 on the old kitchen which "should" be a breeze as it is so small but it is cluttered also!

    Please, please I need encouragement!!

Blimey, nearly 100 posts so far, I knew there must be something about the baby :rotfl: I've just got back an hour ago, was a successful event but I am completely exhausted (got to sleep about 3am then up at 6am!!) but I must say

Johanne she's WONDERFUL!!!! Congratulations to you both, welcome to the world little Sarah. Enjoy just being a Mam, this time flies by so fast, do what you need to and no more (nothing worries a midwife more than a spick and span home because it usually means Mam isn't resting!! That came from a VERY experienced midwife family member and I believe her completely)

Right, I promise to try to catch up at some point, assignment isn't finished so we have until Wednesday to do that so it'll be manic studying non stop with a bit of housework in the middle (ignoring what I don't NEED to do! - Sorry!)

Pink Fairy - more often we've found the wire comes away from either the plug or the vacuum cleaner, you can usually unscrew both to check, another possible is a split in the cable (I've done that 4 times yanking it under door being lazy :o)

Big hugs to all, welcome to all the newbies, I'm off to seek out missing uniform items, put the bin out then go to bed, DP is snoring next to me (6 hours sleep in 2 days so he's a bit snookered) so I need to kick him in that direction first.
One day I might be more organised...........
