Hi Guys

There is a small sofa on ebay that I wish to purchase but it is from London and as I am in the northeast I cannot pick it up. I would like to arrange a courier but don't know where to start or what the cost would be. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Sofas are beyond the scope of normal couiers.

You may find that it will be cheaper to hire a van and collect it yourself.

Failing that you could try a few local removal companies to see if any are returning from London empty.

Thanks for your reply - it is quite a small sofa measurements are 115cm wide x 75cm deep x 98cm high. Does this make any difference?

Did I read somewhere that you can get delivery via Royal Mail on a pallet for around £75?

    Thanks

I don't think RM do pallets.

Given the dimensions it should go on a pallet, see: http://www.palletline-online.co.uk/guide/pallet-dimensions.html

Where in London is it and where in the NE does it need to go?

See how you get on with the pallet route, and indeed if you actually end up winning the auction.

I know a man who will move it for you, so if you get stuck PM me.

Also check courier services on ebay

I used one on there last year (no longer doing the courier bit unfortunately) who was fantastic. For some you might pay a lower price if you can wait for the item... and they do several collections and drops in one day.

I think it the one I used charged £37 for collection and delivery of anything upto the size of a wardrobe - which at the time was brilliant!

    Hi

I now have the exact same scenario!! I am hoping to win an auction for a 3 piece sofa setup near london and want it all delivering to the north east!! Consists of:

    1 x 3 seater
    1 x 2 seater
    1 x chair

Any ideas on costs for delivery?
    Cheers
