    Hi,
Couldnt believe that I got my deposit money back. Many thanks to clutton and tbs624.

As mentioned in my earlier posts, even after the court decree and notice of EOJ to the letting agency, there was no joy with my deposit amount.
As per Clutton and tbs624's advice, I wrote to the CEO and Directors of their Head Office...but, disappointingly, even the CEO replied back saying that the lettin agents are not responsible for the deposit money.

But, then the Owner of Belfast letting office wrote to me saying that they will try to contact the LL as a favour to me(!!). I had no hopes...and there was no response from the Letting agency for almost 2 or 3 weeks.

I wrote a warning email to the Belfast agency owner stating that I will be proceeding with issuing of EJO. To my surprise, the letting agency sent a cheque for the amount stated in the judgement paper - So, includes my deposit amount + Court fee.

I have encashed the cheque this Friday...!!

To be honest, I went to the court as EL's thread has inspired me a lot. I didnt want to give up...and I have received valuable advices from many of the MSEs here...

Thanks very much to you all!! I am really grateful to you guys!

Yatin123 sorry to have found your thread late - congratulations hun - it seems like my thread has inspired at least 3 more people (that I know of) to go to court and beat the landlord/landlady! I am so proud of everything MSE represents and that amazing weight-free feeling around your shoulder area right now is due to these here folks!

Hopefully in time with more and more people willing to ensure they are underthe Tenant Deposit Scheme, and stand up to landlords who illegally withold deposits, it will become a thing of the past. But the sleepless nights and nerves are still a fact! As you yourself said, it becomes about the fairness, not about the cash. Well done!
