Take out the hard disk from the old computer and put it into the new computer as a slave drive, download a utility called killdisk and install and run it on the slave drive, it will erase it 100%.i bought a new pc at christmas,i want ot sell old one,but still has all data on it,can anyone tell me how to compeltely wipe it?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
If your old PC has a floppy drive there's no need to move disks around - just download the bootable Killdisk floppy and boot from that directly:
http://www.killdisk.com/downloadfree.htm
Or better, if it can boot from CD, download the bootable ISO of DBAN and boot from that, as Albertross suggested.0 -
I wasn't sure if you could still get the bootable floppy image, have you got the info on that mate?If your old PC has a floppy drive there's no need to move disks around - just download the bootable Killdisk floppy and boot from that directly:

Yeah - I had trouble finding it last year, but it seems to be back:
http://software.lsoft.net/killdisk.zip
Or here if you want the single-step version:
http://software.lsoft.net/killdiskfloppysetup.exe
Haven't used it recently as DBAN seems to be better for the truly paranoid...0 -
