Porting - which network is quickest for porting in then out again?
Just checking, but in the past I have ported a number off an o2 contract phone, onto Virgin PAYG and then back to a new o2 contract within 14 days (5 working days to get to Virgin, immediately request a PAC, back to o2 7 days later). Is this still possible or have they introduced an minimum term for staying?
Do other networks work the same (or make it problematic to get the PAC)?
For information, I am wanting to take my number from Three back to a new Three contract (as not being offered the best retention deal this year).
Many thanks

It's now down to 2 working days for ports. Orange insist on sending you the PAC in the post. AFAIK O2 or T-Mobile will give you the PAC over the phone...0

Hi,
I am in the same situation as you, and am looking for a new o2 contract but I am currently already on a o2 contract. I would like to carry my phone number foward but have no clue how I am going to transfer this number onto a Virgin PAYG sim first.
Did you buy the Virgin sim on the website? And complete the order online?
How long will the process take as my contract finishes on the 11th May next month .
Thanks in advance. Its better to close your mouth and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt...:p0 -
Isn't OffCom standardising the whole process for customers ?0

Why are you porting out to Virgin-I don't know why you are porting and not just upgrading but hey. If you want to port out then go to O2 Prepay (PAYG) and then back into Contract-will take a mazimum of 48hrs, there and back-all you need is an o2 sim number get some free sims sent to you or buy one for like £2) and you can just port back into contract.Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!
As D'Ream would sing 'Things.....can only get better'!!!0 -
I was porting out to Virgin as they were cheapest last time, but just read a comment on the Three Retentions thread that they (Virgin) now have a minimum spend of £30 before they will release the PAC?
Anyone have experience of the other networks please -I have sims for tmobile, o2, Orange and Vodafone available (cannot find my Virgin one!) - in answer to punjabi munda whenever there is a free sim offer I make sure that I keep a stock for each network for this sort of purpose (and the hope of getting an elusive golden number!).
