Hillarys blinds

Hello, am helping my son with furnishing his new flat in Muswell Hill. We have decided to use venetian blinds in one of the bedrooms that has two biggish windows one overlooked. Probably wood effect ones, beech colour.
As we are useless at diy we would quite like to use a north London firm that would measure and fit - however all I can come up with on the web is Hillarys blinds. I know they are UK wide -are they very expensive - has anyone used them? Or can anyone suggest anywhere in Wood Green or Enfield area perhaps?
I know we could measure ourselves and use an online order service and then get a handyman to fit but unless there are huge savings I would rather just get measuring, making and fitting all in one.

Most blind firms are going through a bad time right now as the industry is really suffering - everyone is worried about the lack of sales especially at this time of year. So getting a good deal is likely if you play the blind companies off against one another. Get quotes from 3 local firms (don't just think Hilarys will do - they do beleive they can price fix because they essentially supply several other blind companies) and then compare the quotes. If you want quality venetian blinds though don't choose Hilarys, as they make their own, Hunter Douglas is the best quality but you may pay slightly more. The slat will last longer as it is thicker than Hilarys (their sister company who makes them is called Arena) and really is worth the extra 20 quid or so.0

They always do BOGOF offers all year round. I am in the blind industry, I can buy their products (on their wholesale side) and sell them far cheaper than they sell them for and still make profit. I have had many people ring me for a price and say they have had Hillarys quote them and how much would we sell the same product for and I have easily been able to get the sale. It makes me angry, that is why I am posting this, when people say they sell blinds at a good price!!!0 -
I had an appointment with them last year. They quoted me around £1200 for all the windows in my place, and that was for one fo the cheapest materials with a "special deal" on.
Did the measuring up myself and went online and ordered nicer blinds from click-blinds for a grand total of under £300. They're a doddle to fit, just a few screws, fit a couple of brackets and clip in place.
Shows how much of a rip-off Hillarys Blinds were.
Can't hurt for them to come and give you a quote though, maybe if they're doing that badly you could get a bit of a deal.0 -
I recently ordered mine from Blinds UK online, blinds are really simple to measure and install.
I saved a packet.0 -

The price included fitting presumably?
How many windows did you need to fit. I just need a couple of average size bedroom windows. My son wants venetian blinds, is that what your quote was for?0 -
The ones ordered on line are DIY fitting. I bought vertical blinds throughout.
It included 2 large windows (2.2mx1.4m) patio doors and a couple of other smaller windows.
You can get free samples of the materials/colours sent to you first if you want.
Just select your design and enter the dimensions of the window/recess and it'll tell you the price. They're all made to measure from the dimensions you give.
Some of the shops you can use through Quidco too.0
