Going past the 12 month contract...

Hi all,

Sorry for a silly question but i'm coming up to the end of my 12 month contract but don't have time as yet to shop around for a good deal.

I was hoping just to let the contract keep rolling on for 1-2 months before officially switching contracts and getting the best deal...is this ok?

I've already had CPW 02 trying to call me and dupe me into renewing my contract for 18 months with the classic line:

"Hi its XXX from CPW...no need to worry or anything just wanted to let you know that we'd like to send you a new phone - is that ok?"

Completely failing to mention the things like it being a crappy new 18 month contract...

Anyway if someone could let me know whether its ok to keep the contract going past 12 months paying the normal rate and whether it impacts on the chances of being offered good deals in the future that'd be great.

Many thanks!

If you do nothing, your contract continues on whatever price plan you are on already. Worth speaking to o2 CPW Loyalty department/retentions (and don't have to accept what they come up with!) - you will see on the other thread that they can come up with some good deals (some have no phone, 11 or 12 month free on 12 month contract with 4 claims depending on what you are looking for - and as o2 CPW rather than their ugly sisters e2save or OSPS etc then possibly more reliable).

    thanks - much appreciated :-)
  • You might wanna check if you have any discounts - they might not be applied after the 12 months are up. I know that's the case with my o2 contract, but I'm not sure if it always works the same x
