    Laphraiog or Ardbeg for me.
  • Dalwhinnie for day time.
Lagavulin (pronounced Lagga-voolin), for night, home to the definitive Islay malt whisky it is an experience not to be missed ...
    Large Charge

We all get heavier as we get older because, there is a lot more information in our heads!

So I'm not fat, I'm just really intelligent and my head couldn't hold anymore, so, it started filling up the rest of me!
  • Suggest you join the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and go to one of their tastings. This way, you'll experience a whole range of different whiskies and build up your own portfolio of likes & dislikes. Some of the recommendations already made are an "acquired" taste, especially the peaty Islays. Personally, I love 'em - Caol Ila (pronounced "Cull Eela") being my favourite - but I know many whisky drinkers that don't.

Check out the articles on that site too ... a little goldmine ;)

If you're going to top it up with lemonade, go for the cheapest (heaps of bargains in EU duty free, normally Dewars or something with 'Highland' in the name), otherwise would second Highland Park, Glenmorangie, Jameson, or Glenfiddich and add Bushmills.

Reminds me of Red Darwf - you want sippin' or gulpin' whisky..?

If you're drinking whiskey with a mixer, go for cheaper supermarkets own brands. However, if you're drinking it neat or with water, my favourite would be Black Bush.

  • Black Bush, Crested Ten or John Powers. Also dont mix it with anything except a splash of water.
It's a great day for singing a song / It's a great day for moving along / It's a great day for morning to night / It's a great day for everybody's plight.

I think the Asda case deal gives you 10% off. So if you buy the 1.5l bottles @ £16.58 -10% = £14.92 / 1.5l = £9.95 per bottle. Asda own blend was made by Burns Stewart (presuming it still is) and won a few awards a few years ago. You will need to check out your local Asda to see if this is the case (no pun intended)!!

  • Bushmills 12yrs old single malt goes down a treat. Expensive, but I usually get a bottle (or bottles if I'm lucky) as an Xmas present(s) from children/grand-children. But please don't contaminate good whiskey (Irish) with ANYTHING, not even water. Cheers everybody.
