  • It might be an idea to contact Community legal services(just google it as i forget the phone number),they maybe able to offer good advice,or suggest someone local who could do so.

    Waht will happen next is a report will be written, detailing information gathered at the interview and also prior to it, and passed to a assessment officer. deciion maker who will determine if you will be treated as having been n the household and living as a partner, and if so from what date. If this is the case an overpayment will be caulated.

    The investigator will also pass the file to his/her manager to condsider if they feel an offence has been comitted, and make a decision as to what if any further action will be taken against your freind.

    You will probably here in 4/6 week depending on which coucil he is delaing with- the whole process will take several months if the DWP are involved.

    I would just like to say if your friend is in receipt of MRC of DLA then you could get carers allowance which would entitle you to Income Support(if you have no other income) which would include a carers premium. You would also get this in housing benefit.
