  • Here we go - http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70025525

If the link isn't working then go to Ikea and type in floor level drawer. It shows it as being a silver colour, but it looks like you either buy a front that matches your units, or somehow attach the normal plinth to it

    A great idea though!

Check out the MFI kitchen planner

    http://www.mfi.co.uk/products/3080-yourkitchen (bottom right corner somewhere)....

Gives you a good idea of how the kitchen will look and a list of all the parts you need. Then just see if Ikea do the same stuff.

    BTW, nice install Kevstir....!!!

Reading around on this site, I've discovered that Ikea cupboards are 2cm deeper than others, so they're worktop is 62cm to compensate. This may foul my plan to get a worktop elsewhere as everywhere else looks to do 60cm deep worktops - there'd be no overhang... I may have to get an Ikea top after all. :(

Are we still able to get hold of these 21% vouchers... if so where can I get one from.

No - you had to visit a store on the 21% day (19th April) and collect a voucher. The vouchers have name and phone filled out by a member of staff, so I would assume are none-transferable.
  • You can overcome the difference in size and use standard worktops.

When we first installed our kitchen we had a standard butchers block effect laminate top.
We fitted it by slightly off setting it from the wall at the back, and having a slightly less than normal overhang at the front.
This did the job, and looked ok for years. However, just recently we have changed the tiles, and the worktop.
This time we have bought standard worktop from Wickes along with the upstand that fits along the back. Instead of fitting the upstand on top of the worktop, we have fitted it behind, thus giving 'extra' depth to the tops.
I must say I am very happy with the outcome, and there are probably more solutions to the problem.
By the way I think Howdens worktops are slightly deeper than normal, but they didn't do one that we wanted.

Just wondering how the OP got on?

We bought our kitchen yesterday and saved over £700 with the discount voucher - yay. Just hoping that we got the design right.... There's a 10 week wait for delivery as a lot of the carcusses are out of stock due to unprecedented demand from the sale.

Still not bought it! Went for an appointment with them on Monday night (Sam from Edinburgh branch - very helpful!) He tweaked our plan and helped us with spacing etc. We decided to take a few days to think about everything and are now going back tonight to buy it all! Am not getting the worktop from Ikea - they wanted to charge us over £500 for it which is just ridiculous. Have also decided not to get a tap from there either given they hardly had any in stock. Have gone for the Abstrakt white units which seem fairly sturdy. All in all, including the extractor, hob and oven its coming to £1500 inc discount and delivery which I can't really complain about! My dad said he would come and fit it for us (not the gas or the worktop) so that solves the installation problem.

Hope everyone else got on ok with the voucher!!

We bought an Adel White kitchen for ~£2400, and got the 21% off no problems. Changed a fair bit from our original design when we picked up the voucher.
When you go down to the tills to pay your money, try and pick someone who looks like they know what they're doing. We had someone who struggled to work out what 21% of a number was.
The Nutid 910S single oven is cheaper if you buy it seperately under Ikea Family discount offer they are doing at the moment. Normal price is £495. Family price is £369. 21% off price is £391.
We're buying the worktop for them, (laminate light Walnut), but will find someone else to fit it. We also have arranged for the people Ikea use to do worktops to give us a call and quote a price to fit.
I thought the worktop prices Ikea did were really good. What worktop was you going for?
