Does it matter that she went on holiday, did she pay for it? From what ive read, not once has it been said she paid for it!

So she went on holiday, whats the difference in her going away, with someone going away with a mortgage of £100k, who has paid for their holiday! They have more debt than she did!!

Why is newfunk one of the only people on here talking any sense without ranting? Could it be because he has been through bankruptcy and knows it isn't a walk in the park.

Also, someone posted that after declaring bankruptcy, their wages are their own to do with as they please! Yeah right! The OR allows you money for basic living needs. Anything left over is taken in the form of and Income Payments Agreement.

Problem is there is no stigma attached to being made bankrupt these days. I think bankrupts should be forced to wear bright pink shell suits with yellow dots for a year, failing that get them to kiss that Jade Goody from big brother, that's enough of a punishment/deterrent for anyone.
  • I personally didn't have to pay anything as I wasn't earning enough after all my living costs etc, it still hasn't been a walk in the park though, even though I'm now discharged

    I just saw this lol!
    I rather like polka dots

Seriously though, I still think there is a stigma, I certainly felt it, and still am.

You say wearing bright pink shellsuits with yellow dots as if it was a bad thing. Some of the fashions nowadays are much worse.

CTT-we were on holiday 5 1/2 months AFTER she went bankrupt....still as i said before she's made up that you like her style.....after all the holiday was free (from my job)...methinks you're jelous we had a free holiday...now if you are under 21, blonde, attractive & female I'm sure I can be persuaded to take you instead...

IMHO Methinks you hid the money away to finance your FREE hols. Come on tell us the truth and you will feel alot better.

    Hello all,

Oh....by the way to the poster who criticised the fact we were on holiday, firstly BUTT OUT it's not your business, secondly i get free holidays with my job & thirdly if I chose to pay for her holiday (we don't live together by the way) that's my business! RANT OVER....(!)
    .

Errrrr, I presume you mean me? I tried to give a balanced opinion that this kind of post will always attract a number of differing views. I mentioned the holiday merely to point out that people reading it could easily jump to the opinion of "great, £24k wiped out even after all the money has been spent, then she's off on a holiday which many of us can't afford because we have bills to pay". I never once mentioned it as a criticism, just pointed out that it was perhaps not the most helpful thing to mention in your post.
Anyway, if it's not our business why did you mention it !!!!!!? Your business is indeed your business - until you post it on a public bulletin board that invites reaction :T

Just out of interest, you stated that she had received all the credit whilst being on a £750 pcm wage. Was she 100% honest about her income on all her applications? I know I'm often a little economical with the truth on such things and I've had mortgage advisors telling me the best way to make my income look larger.

    Good grief.

I think its time to stop this. The guy is a travel agent. Travel agents get free holidays. The OP has stated he doesn't live with GF, it was her debt. Lets draw a line under it.

This has turned into deliberate baiting of the OP now, I think CTT has probably got a big evil masterplan laugh.

I think everyone one on the board must be desparate for a holiday.
MSE holiday camp anyone, Martin would be a good red coat lol!
  • Just spent ages reading this thread. What a waste of time. I think there's only a handful of replies that are factual or helpful.

Most of the rest contain assumptions and judgements. What a moral lot you are. It's difficult staying on the high ground throughout life, I hope you always manage it. :)

It's so easy to judge others for the crap choices they make and to tell them how distainful you find their situations.

Differing opinions are fine if they are based on fact and are made in an unoffensive and non judgemental way.

(I'm reading this at work and most of the folk on my floor have come over to see what I'm shaking my head at, the concensus of opinion is more about the tone of the replies rather than the original topic.)

Good on you guys. You're a great advert for this site.

I don't expect I'll come back to this thread, so feel free to get all righteous and slag me off as you will. If doing so makes you feel better, then I'm happy to have been of some use.

Lets get this straight buddie. You are at work and paid to do a job but instead of doing that job you are gainfully employed with your fellow colleagues looking through a message board. IMHO you sound a bit of a creep.
