You never know till you try the complaining route!

But there are no proper grounds for the cancelling the contract.

If you owe the £89, not paying it will just escalate the matter - they are entitled to add charges for not being paid by direct debit, late payment etc, and these mobile phone networks aren't slow to pass on debts to debt collectors with all the problems that brings. And once you start witholding payments, then any chance of any goodwill gesture from them letting you out will be gone.

Bit the bullet i have payed them the full amount outstanding, so do you think i have a good case to terminate early? If i keep pesturing

There is no case for terminating early.

But you do have grounds for complaint, and compensation for any bank charges, etc their admin errors have cost you.
