I too am having problems which is why I logged onto this site.
  • Thanks, Paul. Good to know it is not just me. Annoying it happens just now, I had son on the phone requiring instant transfer. Oh well I suppose I have got a few hours to try and sort it out. Also it caused a bit of a panic here becasue it was the first time I got asked to used the card reader and I could not rmember where I had put it securely away! Then I had to retrieve my never before used pin number for the card from its secure hiding place - but at least I knew where that was!

After all that I cant even tell whether the transfer did actually go through...

Been trying since 9.00am today and just cannot get past the Log In page. You would think that Nationwide would be aware of the problem by now!
  • There is now a little note & link on the Nationwide home page saying "Internet banking fault".

Meanwhile I have been to my branch. Checked on the cashpoint machine that the transaction did not go through. The staff offered me use of an internet terminal, but that was no good since I did not have my user number stored in my head. So they then were able to look at the existing payment transactions set up by me and identify the one I wanted to make a payment on and do it as an immediate credit transfer.

So problem solved for me for the moment, but it makes me think about the reliability of on-line service and the possible need to make back up arrangements. Perhaps I should not try and pay bills at the last moment, and my son likewise!

However, I assume your MSE user name is stored in your head! :rotfl:

Ha! just been trying to log on for the last 10 mins and it throws me off after log-on page. Glad to see I'm not alone as it was driving me crazy

  • No, but I have it encrpyted behind a random password which I remember.

BTW I had not come across Epsilon Draconis before. But I well know Gamma Draconis.

A few minutes ago I was able to login normally so perhaps Nationwide have now cleared the problem.

I have been all morning trying to log on. Latest message said ' because of a security risk, we advise you to close your browser immediately' or words to that effect. A bit scary !
