My experience isn't that good, unfortunately. I bought a Shuttle Barebones PC from them. It was faulty and so I had to return it. When they received the goods, they said that they couldn't issue a refund because it was faulty!
They think that I had caused some damage to it. I am now almost £200 out of pocket and am trying to get it back.

Aftersales service is very poor and I am afraid I will never be buying from them again.

    Nujjy.
    Waddle you do eh?
  • I've used them several times and had nothing but top class service from them. Very quick delivery and miles better than Ebuyer.
    Boo!
  • My only problem with them is the carriers they use, you will never come across a less helpful bunch of jobs worths. ( initial CityLink) You will find a thread on them on the Vent board.
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.
  • I have used Aria lots of times, they are quick on posting, usually arriving within 1 or 2 days.Their prices are good, but do check using Kelkoo or similar for any better prices, or cheaper postage rates.

Err, just to be clear, are you saying that you returned a faulty item and when they got it they said it's faulty because you must have damaged it? Then what happened did they return it to you or keep it and the money?

I would write a very brief but stronly worded letter saying you will start proceedings within 14 days, and then start them with the moneyclaim site given above. If it's that clear cut you will win.
  • Reply stating that the 'Sale and Supply to Consumers Act' states if a consumer recieves a product which is faulty, they have 6 months to return it(this is dependent the type of product, but I would expect it to last at least past a few month). The onus is on the supplie to prove that the item was not faulty. You have nothing to prove.

The only problem is that companies don't have to a obey the law.(ie. Dixons, PC World (same chain), Time, etc.) They can quite happily refuse to co-operate, until you take them to small claims court and cost you alot of money in the process. Didn't mean scare you there.

I really doubt Aria will be as bad as the previously mention companies.
  • eiamhere69. small claims costs peanuts. plus you get it all back when they settle or in the rare case it goes to trial, if you win - then you can also claim expenses, time off work etc etc. i make these companies PAY for messing me around - i wish others would have the balls to do the same. this is martin lewis' philosophy of emnity after all!

  • Their prices are very good, and delivery quick but just hope nothing is faulty.

I have purchased from them quite often - but on different occasions had faulty memory and a faulty graphics card. Defo faulty, tested on a number of different systems. I don't mind if stuff is faulty, ARIA will just never admit when an item is. Because I posted them back within 14 days I got a refund, but it cost me the original shipping charge and the cost to post it back to them. (I recon ARIA deny faults to save them the shipping costs).

Has anyone ever had a faulty item from them and they have actually agreed that it is faulty? I'd be interested to hear.

I had some memory which they first refused to accept as faulty (2 lots of postage - there and back) then accepted as faulty and replaced (1 set of postage back) then failed again. At this point I threw it away and decided not to buy from them again - I couldn't afford to keep paying the £6 or £7 postage they charge when they tell you something isn't faulty and won't return until you pay the postage!
