Help.....bt Driving Me Mad!!!

until last week my linerental was with BT and my calls,broadband and tv was with sky.

We were having problems with Sky so we have dropped the TV package to the free channels an decided to move our calls and broadband elsewhere and went for BT as the linerental is already with them and it meant we could have everything together.

we were told 5 days for the broadband to connect - now all done.

11 days for the phone to come back to BT which was yesterday, it still hasnt been done. i called them and the order has apparently failed....not once but 5 times!!! they are going to try again (not holding my breath) but thats another 11 days. in the meantime im still paying the £11.75 a month for just incoming calls.

I spoke to my husband and we both agreed that if we cant have calls with BT we dont want the broadband (connected on 18th april) as we wanted everything together, i dont want to be paying -

£24.99 broadband
£11.75 for a line i cant use but need for the broadband to work
and then x amount to have a phone with someone else

so.....i called bt to cancel the contract on the broadband,id have to keep the line rental with them anyway to go to another provider and im stuck with that cntract til july anyway.

They wont cancel the broadband as im in a contract now for 12 months despite me agreeing to that contract thinking it was to have everything together...the broadband and the telephone are seperate contracts and they wont be able to cancel either (the phone line til july cause thats when we had that for the sky and the braodband til next april eventhough its only been on for 6 days and they havent dont what they said they would).

This is completely out of order...i have no phone, well i do but i cant use it!! They are saying to just dial 1280 with is all very well but that then means im paying for the evening and weekend calls that i make that i should be getting for free if they got my line back as promised!! They are not keeping their side of the contract...what can i do???

really not happy at all, £36 a month JUST for internet and incoming calls (outgoing if i pay per call).
