Visa Electron, what a crock of !!!!

I went to pay my Virgin Credit card the other week with my Visa Electron card, as there was insufficient time to set up a Direct Debit on the account which has now been done. Thanks to a poxy random security check on the account, the payment did not go through and Virgin have revoked the 0%. Absolutely fuming. This was what I was told by Halifax customer services. Anyone else had this problem.

What was the problem with the security check?0

I've never had a problem with my Halifax Electron tbh. Asda did do a security check on the 'phone day before a grocery delivery but online I go through Protex fine and smoothly.0

i had a similar issue processing an online transaction, the 3dsecure thing came up and i accidentally pressed cancel.
The rest of the transaction went thru ok but i found out days later it got "lost in the system"
this was with a normal visa cardclick here to achieve nothing!0 -
I've had the 3dsecure things a few times now, as long as the security check is done properly I've never had a problem.
I accidentally cancelled it once, and rebooked - then panicked I'd booked it twice but it was all okx

Thanks to the payment not going through via the Visa Electron payment system, they stuck me with a late payment charge and also they've revoked the 0%. This was not a fault of mine, it was due to the banks poxy payment system. I have a direct debit set up now but due to the timing etc, it had not been set up when the payment was due so I paid it online as a one off until the DD had been set up. I contacted Virgin again and the woman that I spoke to assured me that the 0% had not been revoked and that it was ok until next year but why does it state on the online statement that I've only got the rate until May.
She said I would be able to take advantage of the 0% rate until May but any transfers after that, and purchases etc would be at the standard rate. The other day I looked at it prior to the !!!! up and it stated that I had 0% until July of next year.Assured I wasn't going to be hit with charges but I've got my doubts. Never done any balance transfers for ages, the one and only time I do the bank balls it all up.

I didn't even know a security check had been done on the account it appeared to go through ok online. It wasn't until the payment hadn't gone through that I realised the bank had messed up. Visa Electron can't be contacted, it's just an automated system, it had a hiccup and unfortunately it cost me.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. And the OP is still to explain how her leaving it to last minute to make a payment is someone elses fault
Banks do carry out security checks and as long as completely they dont delay transactions- or at least not of this sort0 -

The transaction was put through over a week before it was due. The bank had 9 working days to put the payment through. It was only when I checked the day the payment was due that I saw that it had not been paid, despite my putting the payment through over a week beforehand. How is that last minute?!“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -
