Options
all these months i have been using my phone (nokia 6820) as a modem to connect to the internet on my laptop by a dial up which is 0845 number. but it costs a fortune....
any cheaper way to do this... GRPS is just 2 times more expensive...i use the IrDA port of my laptop and my phone to connect to the internet and dial 0845 through my phone..
how about if i use the 1899.co.uk...wont it be cheaper ?
pls advise. thank you

You can register with BT Yahoo and use their 'abroad' number which is 0121 4789200. As far as i know this still works.
Don't download the software offered as this will put their 0845 number in the dialer, enter your username, password and number manually.0 -

oh..i see...and the Bt yahoo number you mentioned 0121... will it be considered a Uk landline number ? if yes thats will be the best idea...if yes to all..can you pls give me their site address or where can i get info about Bt yahoo and their abroad number...thks lots0 -
Yes as you said the 0121 number is charged at normal rates. Register in the pay as you go section. The call prices quoted on the PAYG is for using the 0845 number so ignore them.

If you do download the software it doesn't matter but you will still need to manually set up a dialer with you new BT yahoo username etc.0 -
