    PAC (Port Authorisation Code)
    Used by mobile networks so that you can move/port your mobile number from one provider to another. The existing provider gives you this PAC and then you pass it on to the network you want to move your number to. This PAC then gives permission for the network to request your mobile number from the existing (soon to be old) network.

    MAC (Migrations Authority Code)
    Used by ADSL broadband providers so that you can transfer your broadband from one provider to another (new) provider.

    With only a minute or two downtime, instead of several weeks with cease and re-provide.
    It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!
    (OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)
