all well and good if you like wearing last seasons cast offs...if you want the latest styles and the current diesel releases you need to spend at the diesel shop not TK Maxx...its just left over unsaleable tatt from the designers...

or instead why not just wear what you want, when you want instead of being a sheep and being dictated to by some self proclaimed expert.

They're paid a lt of money to sell you clothes at exorbitant prices only to tell you next week its out of fashion and you have to buy something else from them. In a choice between the OP and you, I know who I thinks the smarter shopper;)

i thought that myself lol but deciced some people could be wearing a dress that cost a million dollers but the phrase "pig in knickers" would still spring to mind.
Dedenhams does dresses that cost not a lot more but are probably inferior quality yet im sure some folk will feel better cos they came from debenhams.
my oh buys most of his stuff from tk maxx as you can get diesel jeans for £40 etc compared to £140 in the diesel shop, same with other brands such as french connection ,roca wear etc and the brandedsunglasses are brill for the price!

I can actually top your bargain diesels- I was in there with DD1 who wanted something called boyfriend jeans picked up a pair of diesels in TKMaxx exact style my daughter wanted for £5  I don't care if they are last seasons she is extremely happy with them, and I have saved £135.

They have some lovely wedding/ prom dresses. And a wedding is a wedding . Who cares if its last seasons dresses as long as it's pretty(i'm sure the husband will not look and think "she looks georgeous but oh my goodness she is in last seasons dress..hope no one notices!"
Ok if you are inviting some top designers but i can't see many of us having that problem.
    Nice spot OP.
  • Hmm...as far as I know white/ivory was this season, last season and next season! Thank you for the money saving heads up! Always worth a look. Our wedding is in 3 and a bit months and I got my bridesmaid dresses which are evening dresses from M&Co for £8 each and we are just going to alter them to give them that extra touch!
    Thank you to all posters:beer:

Mackays. Scottish chain I believe that have expanded south quite rapidly over the past few years by taking stores just off the main High Street where rents etc are a bit cheaper.

And bearing in mind this is a MONEYSAVING forum not an "how to folow ridiculous fashion trends set by people who want to screw you for as much money as they can" forum. I personally love TK Maxx, get some lovely clothes there that I wouldn't dream of paying top whack for (wouldn't pay top whack for most things). Some of the prom dresses are lovely - not seent he wedding dresses but I'm sure like everything else i TK Maxx if you find one you like depends on your own taste and whether you look good in it. Unless of course you would pick a wedding dress because that's what everyone elseis wearing whatever it lookedl ike on you!

the clue is in the title "Money Saving Expert"

the "i'm a slave to fashion and usually end up looking like a eejit" forum is that way
