hi
they had a lovely wedding dress in last year which was pale pink with cream lace overlay and looked like one of those dresses you would wear in versailles all nipped waist, laced up bodice and full skirt, i couldnt believe how cheap it was , i would have loved it but sadly oh has no intentions on that front....unless the dress fit his xbox 360!

I think this comments are a little harsh as the stock in TKmaxx are designer and usually retail for a lot more, this will save me personnally a small fortune regarding prom- and is a brilliant way for a child to be able to afford a good quality prom dress on a budget- and personnally if I was getting married I would prefer to have a cheaper wedding dress and more to spend on my houshold who needs a £1000 dress thats just gonna hang in the wardrobe.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

i thought that myself lol but deciced some people could be wearing a dress that cost a million dollers but the phrase "pig in knickers" would still spring to mind.
Dedenhams does dresses that cost not a lot more but are probably inferior quality yet im sure some folk will feel better cos they came from debenhams.
my oh buys most of his stuff from tk maxx as you can get diesel jeans for £40 etc compared to £140 in the diesel shop, same with other brands such as french connection ,roca wear etc and the brandedsunglasses are brill for the price!

all well and good if you like wearing last seasons cast offs...if you want the latest styles and the current diesel releases you need to spend at the diesel shop not TK Maxx...its just left over unsaleable tatt from the designers...0

I bought a number of dresses (5) last year from TKMaxx for a cruise.
Some were £34.99 and the others were £39.99 but I thought they were fab.
The dress that looks best on me cost £35.
I have to say though that one of the contributing factors is having lost 30lbs.
Some people will look fab in a bin bag, other will look rubbish in a £1000 dress.
I think TK Maxx is fab.
If you don't fine, but why criticise a post that might help someone who is on a tight budget?
If you haven't got anything nice or helpful to say then perhaps saying nothing is the best thing to do.
Some people might only be able to afford a small amount or want to pay a small amount but in the scheme of things i.e. a happy marriage, it's hardly a huge issue is it?0 -
TK maxx is a great store and yes you pick and choose what to buy but these were much nicer than the ones in the bridal section of Asda last year. Yes I got mine in 2006 off ebay via china made to measure for a £100 but if you are on a budget why not!!0

But won't "the latest styles and the current diesel releases" be next seasons "left over unsaleable tat"?I guess we just see things differently, but jeans is jeans and if they look nice on me, suit my shape, are a nice colour and don't make me look like I got dressed in the dark with my hands tied together, I'm happier paying less.
Thanks for the heads up OP. I'm not getting married (been there, done that :rotfl:) but you did remind me to take a peek in TKMaxx tomorrow."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

but some people who think they are fashionable and up to date in current trends usually look silly:eek:
its all a matter of opinion and a designer piece is a designer piece, what is usually left over is stuff sane people would wear:D0 -
I have actually got some of my nicest jeans from the Matalan clearance store (£3 and £4).
I also got 2 pairs are nicely cut black work trousers for £3 each.
The thing is that they are the right size and the cut to suit my shape and that counts afor an awful lot more than spending a huge amount of money.
It really isn't the cost or even the quality that matters.
It's whether the cut & colour suits you.0
